@machu you forgot to add "princess" after "Excuuuuuuuuse me".
You know that Mario Kart Wii is a good game if my SISTER of all people asks if I want to play with her. [the only other 2 games are WSR, and NSMBW.]

Just let it happen.

Excitebots. Mario Kart Wii is horrible.

You only think that cos you suck at it RWP. All the people who complain about Mario Kart are the ones who don't play it because they think it's unfair, waaah, waaaah.

I hate this thread!

When I owned it, I beat everyone I raced. I was unstoppable. Even online.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

My sister generally dislikes videogames too, and Mariokart Wii is one of the only games she likes to play, out of all 15 of my wii games. BTW, what is WSR?

@Machu: Have you played Excitebots? I'm just sayin', at one point, I was a die-hard Mariokart Wii fan too. I played Mariokart Wii for many hours, and I never found myslef bored, or even exasperated by the over-abundance of racers and items being thrown around, because the game is fun, addictive, and hard to put down once you get started.

However, once I caved in and bought Excitebots, I realized just how close-minded I had been. It's exhilarating, over-the-top, insane, and inventive gameplay shattered my initial conception of Mariokart Wii being the best racing game in town. It's simply phenomal, and if you haven't played it yet, at least rent it. You will not regret it.

If you think New Super Mario Bros. Wii is hard, try Super Mario Bros. 3.

@DK-vs-KK WSR stands for Wii sports Resort.

Just let it happen.

@110percentful: Arrggh! I knew it would be something obvious like that. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what WSR stood for, and now I find out that it's a game that I have in my own Wii collection. Duh! My sis will play WSR with me too, occasionally.

I didnt play ExciteBots BUT I did have Excite Trucks. ITs one of my absolute favorite games on the Wii. Motion Controls are Excellent and the over the top gameplay is fast, fun and furious. The tricks are hard to master but when you do, the game goes into absolute insanity as flying in the air, spinning, boosting and racing all together becomes this brink of uncontrol game that is phenominal.

Mario Kart Wii, well. The game has really good motion control, but works better with GC, if your tryin to set Time Trial scores, (I was sitting in the top 10 in the WORLD at Delphino Plaza at one time). Graphics are excellent and the bikes are a great addition. The overpowered back of the pack items are just really really frustrating. So many times I would run 1st place for laps, by literally staying in boost to only have my very hard worked for leat obliterated by a guy, not right behind me, but in the back of the pack, take me out and win the match. To me, that is unbalance. When I can set extremely high lap times and be beaten by a guy with an overpowered item because of an item, from the back of the pack, I just quit playing anything but Time Trials, as the 150cc Reverse had the same problem. At least in the DS version you could evade the Blue Shell, but you cant even do that in Wii.

...... Excite Trucks for me and from everything Ive heard Bots is even better.

He hasn't because he lives in the UK and has a PAL Wii and our friends at NoE apparently have no plans to release it here; part of the reason I have a North American Wii...

Excitebots is crazy, but surprisingly too crazy for me. I have no idea whats going on most of the time, and I suck at it. I crash into trees every few seconds. I think I like Mario Kart Wii because of the silly graphics even though its frustrating.

Ahh yes, this reminded me of another point of comparison.

Excite Bots has many shortcuts. You can go off the path, through the forest (but still not a "go anywhere" game, as you can reach the edges). You can take a little bit different route each lap and still score the fastest times. Sometimes it is faster to go off the path. You can learn new routes to try when you play it again and again.

MarioKart is a track you must stay on. If you go off the edge of the path, you slow down. There are not many shortcuts or alternate paths. Most vehicles take the same route, lap after lap. The fastest path is a particular line, cutting corners but not going off the path. Once you learn the fastest way around the track, you try to nail it the same each lap.

@dgold well, actually there are a lot of shortcuts in Mario Kart wii, but some are only available through the use of items.
I'm going to have to consider Excite Bots now... It seems like something I would like.

Just let it happen.

@dgold..... 110percent is right. You use the Mushrooms to find the shortcuts so you dont slow down in the grass when blazing through the shortcuts.

Well personally I think Mario Kart is the best version since the SNES original. I've only played Excite Bots once so far and I liked what I saw but I need to give it more time. I wasn't a huge fan of the parts where you are asked to spin the controller and I'm not really all that big on robot insects in a racing game. I like the idea of Excite Truck better because I prefer vehicles based in reality so I should perhaps give that one a try.

Mario kart. I traded Excite bots to game stop.

Excitebots does include useful items such as the "bottle rocket," which lets you move fast and fly over the road, and bombs and giant hammers allow you to send your opponents into the air to send them off course. There are also certain items that are very useful but cannot be found in boxes such as the "18 ton drop" where giant weights fall and causes your opponents to overheat and the POW Star that gives you unlimited turbo and invincibility (good for tree runs and crashing into others).

I pick Mario Kart. Ive had more fun experiences with it with my friends.

I definitly have to go with Mario Kart Wii. I mean, it has more tracks, players, and overall just more entertaining. Excitebots is fun, I cant deny that, but MKW is way better.

There are 25 tracks in total (24 in Excite Mode), Mirror mode is unlockable, features 3 poker tracks, there are 10 minigames you can try out, two player split screen offline (no comp), supports 6 players online, and has 20 different bots to choose from. Any more questions?
