Well let me put it this way. I love the Mario Kart series and there has not been a game released I have not liked. While I do not think its the greatest game ever I think its one of the best Wii games. I love the inclusion of retro tracks, more characters, more to unlock and of course online. If your like me and live in a heavily unpopulated area its sometimes nice to have that online component because it really says something with the gratification of knowing you are playing against someone else and not just the computer. Overall a very good game.
I think I've said this at least twice before, but I'll say it again: MKW was a great game in its own right, but exclusion of special items and putting in stupid items (POW, for example, plus other items that were in the series before) was a step down. It is a really fun game, but I won't be throwing out DD anytime soon. Don't harass randomwiiplayer because he doesn't like it - he has good reasons.

It's a good, but flawed game. The biggest problem with this edition of Mario Kart is that the items and the rubberbanding AI have gone to an extreme, especially at the two hardest settings. I used to be mad while playing Double Dash when I was about to cross the finish line in 1st place and ended up in 4th after being hit with a barrage of items. In MKW I have been in the same position and ended up in 12th because all the karts were practically on top of each other and I got hit by even more items.
The online is great, and I particularly enjoy being able to play online with someone else in the room as my guest. It combines the fun of local multiplayer and the fun of playing online.
Like all Mario Kart games, I seem to be enjoying myself more now that I've achieved first place in all the races and have unlocked most of the characters and karts. It's harder to get mad about losing when you're just playing for a casual bit of fun to keep your 3-year-old daughter entertained. But when you've played the same course five times in a row and haven't gotten higher than a silver, it's absolutely maddening when your opponents go overboard on the items. Good game, but it could have been even better.
Moco Loco If you find yourself spiritually drifting (as I was for far too many years), remember that Jesus can and will walk across the water to reach you and bring you back to shore.
