Or can you get away with using just the directionals & buttons with any of the Wii Mario adventure games?

I was thinking about the red bundle that comes with super Mario, but it's no longer much if any cheaper than buying many other console packages & the game separately anyway- does it require less motion sensing control than the galaxy games for instance?

...just what the hell are you getting at?
Come on, spit it out.

It requires shakes to perform a lot of the actions in the game. It's not bad in any way, but if that is what deters you from playing it then all the power to you.

If I remember correctly Super Paper Mario doesn't use any motion controls and It's a Wii game.
Shocker eh? Despite what everyone thinks there are a few Wii games without motion controls.

Despite what sometimes people think, Super Paper Mario was a bad virtual book.

Just had an itch for a Mario game since the originals on NES & game boy- no hidden agendas or anything, as I do understand motion sensing technology is the wave of the future in video games, but was just curious of any of the popular mario titles could still be played with a backward compatible or aftermarket wired controller (that doesn't take batteries).

Yeah doesn't look like super Mario paper is quite as as well reviewed as the new smb or galaxy games, but still good to know. Thanks.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii contains very little motion control. There's the occasional little jerk of the controller required for the propeller suit and a little bit of tilting on a couple of occasions. You have to do a little jerk to pick up something, which is a little clunky and unintuitive, but as with the others you will rarely ever be doing it. It's 99% controlled the normal way.

As someone who generally dislikes motion controls with a passion, I was worried before I played New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but I'm relieved to say that it's very subtle, infrequent and unobtrusive. It's not like Donkey Kong Country Returns where you have to furiously waggle every ten seconds!

Super Mario All-Stars Collector's Edition requires no motion controls at all, but I wouldn't recommend getting it; seeing as it's a pretty terrible port.

You realize you can get SMB1, Lost Levels, 2, 3, World, and RPG on the Virtual Console, don't you? None of those require any motion sensing controls at all. :3

That said, please feel free to use the Wii Recommendations thread to ask which Wii title to purchase. Thank you!
