Topic: Mario Galaxy Ending?

When I finish Super Mario Galaxy for the first time, I was confused about the ending. With all the suicidal Lunas and giant Rosalina and everything. Before Super Mario Galaxy 2 came out, I completed the first one again. After witnessing the ending the second time, I think I finally understand what happen: Mario and crew all die and went to Mushroom Kingdom Heaven. The End.

... The Lumas become stars.

....um, they die and go to Heaven? Really?

...no. It's probably exactly what it says. The universe restarted everything but the only things made different are other galaxies and characters from Galaxy now apparently being in the mushroom kingdom. And apparently either Galaxy 2 confirms that time went backwards (...for some reason) because of this so that the Festival happened again or Mario, Peach and Bowser haven't aged in a hundred years. Or something like that I don't know. I can see why Miyamoto didn't want as much story in Galaxy 2.

So Rosalina is god then?

I'm sorry OtherL, but this is just stupid, your stroy doesn't hold any water what-so-ever. Personally, there is no real "story" element, it just seems the same old Mario, but in a galaxy far, far away.

And also, it going back in time (oh yay, a messed up Mario timeline) makes sense, because Yoshi's back, age of the dinosaurs anyone?

I thought they all ended up in some purgatory-type quasi-afterlife, then met up in a non-denominational church, after having emotional score-filled flashbacks remembering their time on The Island, before "moving on" and ...
Oh wait, that's something else entirely. XD

Mario will be Jack Shephard, Princess Peach will be Kate Austen, and Bowser will be the smoke monster.

Personally, I think everybody BUT the Mario crew moved onward to Heaven, with only Mario, the Princess, Bowser, etc. being left behind. And Kirk Cameron.
