I got it last week, it's amazing. Haven't played it in a while, beating that drunk dude kinda burnt me out on it..

LOVE this game. Haven't beaten it, yet. I've been stuck on the last boss for a few weeks, but I haven't really tried to beat it too much. I like the fact that I can get back to it whenever I feel like it and go for a quick treasure hunt.

I feel the gameplay elements are a perfect match for what I consider "fun." I never got into the whole Place Buildings Here to make a town thing form RTS games, so the way LKS handles that for you is great. The exploration and battle mechanics are simple but wonderfully clean. Even on Normal mode, there were some really challenging battles early on and that convinces you early that this game will not be a cakewalk.

The insane amount of detail in everything really adds to overall experience. The personality and unique enemies in some of the areas make you want to really explore everything (and get all those Art Pieces.)

Overall, I think the game is a masterpiece of design and personality. Despite not having any motion control, it's a perfect fit for Wii. Looking forward to playing more games from this developer and publisher.

Believe it or not there is a small amount of motion controls in it. Once you have the biggest castle you can have you'll see a ping pong table in one of the rooms an you can play using buttons or by jerking the remote. The controls aren't the best but they are motion controls.

I just started playing it again, i got totally side tracked. Right now I'm just taking it slow, doing quests , taxing my people and hunting for items. I'm trying to build alot of money.

Ok, I beat the 3rd king!

Very interesting deal with the 3rd king. Different from what I was expecting. Took me around 6 tries before I totally understood everything that was needed to defeat him. I don't wish to ruin it for anyone who hasn't played the 3rd king yet, but I will tell you that if you take a hand full of miners, it would be a good idea.

Now I have soooo many things to do! There's lots of 4-5 star quests to take on that really got me excited to see whats out there to fight.

This game is simply the best game on the Wii. I really hope they make a sequel. I've been taking it slow for the most part simply because I don't want it to end!

Sorry for resurecting this old thread but I thought it was better than creating a new one.
I've just picked up this game again after a long hiatus and have just one question. In my last play session I must have thrown a lot of my dudes in to the florist and they are now all sporting some rather fetching floral headwear. The trouble is that its difficult to distinguish who's who ( I know there is the litte icons at the bottom but its not always easy to look at that in the heat of battle!!). Does anyone know of a way to get them back in their uniforms without turning them back in to carefrees and re training them (i've a lot of hardend grunts and their not cheap). Any help would be appreciated as I've searched the web and come back empty handed. Ta.

What's this bit for again?

If you miss the opportunity to take up a quest does it go for ever? I missed the opportunity to beat a Guardian and I think that will mean I won't be able to develop a particular part of my town on this playthrough.

It might take some time, but the quest will come back. Or it might be listed in the quests you've already accepted and you can simply try again from there.

My fav wii game, done all sidequests except the song collection thing, also sending multiple units to their death isn't so bad its for the greater good afterall, and I'm sure they are happy to give their lives, in the name of their love-able dictator king, would love a sequel or DS or 3DS version of the game, too bad it didn't seem to get the sales it deserved.

Thanks for that. I checked my opened letters and found it. After a long break I managed to get all the way to the insanely hard final boss sequence. The lack of save points for the final sequence is galling. I managed to get the final final boss down to about 25% health but unfortunately it was a war of attrition with just five soldiers. The other 25 had been slaughtered in the opening battle in the sequence!

Any tips would be helpful! I watched a youtube playthrough of the battle and noticed that in their game the enemy never used the 'feast' move. They had a more aggressive approach though rather than my pannicked hit and run strategy. Is this due to an easier difficulty setting or does an early attack prevent it from using the hated one hit kill move?

Yay, my thread is back from the dead!

@Luigi78 I'm not sure. I think they change back when they're injured, maybe, or I think after awhile they just go back. Or you could try marrying them all off, that might work.

That last battle is pretty tough indeed and it took me a few times to beat it. I made sure all my super soldiers had maximum health by turning the ones with low health back to normal and then changing them into super soldiers again until I got lucky with their health.
I'm not sure what kind of tactic I used for the actual battle, but I think it's a bit of luck and watching for the right moment to attack. I think there was also a spot where a farmer could dig up a steam bath that was really helpful, but it's been a while, so I'm not sure anymore.

Yesterday was annoying. I got him to what looked like 100% damage and he still wouldn't die! As he was so close to what I thought was defeat I threw everyone at him and didn't recall them before he ate them! THEN to add further insult, he spammed the poo attack and refused to switch to the doppelganger attack.

Am I right in saying that he is only truly vulnerable to attack at the doppelganger move?
