I think the art style is good, and I really liked all the tricks — like when you pull a string and the environment visually changes, or when you enter a hole in the cloth and you see Kirby's shape protuding etc. I really hope this is not just a one off game because all the half-baked ideas on it could be improved and be the basis for a dynamite game. I'm positive..
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

its the single best art style a video game has ever had IMO, followed closely by paper mario and yoshi's story
the gameplay isnt really challenging, but getting the best scores possible isnt exactly easy, and its a great game for just relaxing and having fun, which is what games should be about
I'm not MUCH a fan of the Yarn Kirby art style. I've never played the game, but just by looking, I don't think it fits what Kirby is SUPPOSED to be/look like. I just don't think it fits. I mean, I know that they probably used it to bring out the 'cute' aspect of Kirby, but some games are just token to far in art or gameplay. For example, 'Mario Is Missing.' This game had such a drastic change of the real Mario look, that it soon came rise to the infamous 'Weegee.' Now, though I know this is just a new art style there trying out, and want to take a new approach to Kirby, they took a TOTALLY drastic change from the normal Kirby art, and just doesn't fit that one like it should...
I wasn't convinced at first, but then I played it in two players mode and I really liked it. The two player thing makes it a bit more challenging etc. It's not an "universal" game — its mood and slow pace might not appeal to everyone, but it's surely one of the games we Wii owners should be proud of. And yes, I wouldn't mind Nintendo giving Good-Feel the blessing to apply the same art style to another one of their franchises (Yoshi?!), I appreciated how creative they've been with this.
Yoshi's Story already had a similar art style.
Nintendo should just buy out Good-Feel and Next Level Games. They could really use more developer support. Sony does it all the time, and look how massive their development resources are.
please don't let YellowChocobo / WaltzElf read this, he'll just argue with me again
Sony fails. Just look at Microsoft, they're the best without buying out everything under the moon. Also Apple, but Apple should just buy out Nintendo. It'd be a good move
You do realize apple bought two separate companies that worked on siri and the muti-tasking right. Also Microsoft bought Skype acouple of months ago and twisted pixel last week.
This game integrates art style with gameplay to a degree that NO other game before it has reached. Comix Zone, Paper Mario, and others have come close. But Epic Yarn exceeds any previous attempt to mesh art design with gameplay. That's it's greatest achievement! As for the game itself- it's a lot of fun with two players and good challenge to get all golds in the levels.
The art style is great. I just don't like the gameplay. The basic gameplay is tedious and not much fun to begin with, and the complete inability to die or otherwise fail a level just killed whatever enjoyment was left for me. Sure, it's challenging to get gold medals and collect everything, but, outside of the boss levels, the only way to use those rewards is in a half-baked decoration mode, so why bother going back through those annoying levels again to get them?
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

You couldn't die in Wario Land 2 and 3 either. Did you think those games were tedious and unenjoyable too?

I haven't played either of those games. Anyway, the mechanic isn't a deal breaker on its own (although it's better used only in more casual genres). I love the franchise Lego games, and you can't die in them. Also, I called the basic gameplay tedious, not the inability to die. However, the inability to die only compounds the problem when the basic gameplay is so tedious and boring.

I really loved Kirby's Epic Yarn and it was actually the first Kirby game I ever bought and played through completely (I did play a lot of Kirby's Tilt n Tumble though) but I was yearning for the traditional Kirby game, which came to us and I also very much loved that game also.
I wouldn't mind if they did a follow up for Kirby's Epic Yarn, maybe make it a little more difficult, add in some mini-games that utilize Kirby's different abilities and powers. There's actually a lot of potential within this formula of Kirby, and imagine what you can do with it in the Wii U? GOOD-FEEL GET CRACKING!!! XD
I didn't like the game because of its gameplay. But the visual style was good. I enjoyed the movement of the world made of cloth, and its effects but I couldn't stand the unability to die. In my opinion the game really shines when played with a friend, the multiplayer makes it an enjoyable experience.
The 2D platformer is my favourite genre, and personally I thought the gameplay was fantastic. It's slow and not too challenging, and the no-death mechanic isn't something I'd usually be keen on, but it controls incredibly tightly and 100%'ing it was fairly challenging. Some of the bonus levels were great fun, namely the racing and snowboarding ones. The art style is absolutely amazing and I also loved most of the music. I'd agree with Corbs and give it 10/10 without hesitation.
I first played this downloaded on Wii U and its a great game so far. It looks amazing... for a 2D platformers anyway. Only Yoshi's Woolly World beats it.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
