I don't know much about the Kirby series (I've only got the DS games, which aren't traditional ones), but I just hope that there's a bit of a varied selection.
I'm looking forward to hearing more about it!
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

Some of the GB and GBA games, since I haven't played most of them...
Kirby's Dream LandKirby's Dream Land 2Kirby and the Amazing MirrorKirby's Pinball LandKirby's Block Ball
Also Kirby's Star Stacker (SNES) which was released on the Japanese VC some time ago.
But a good basic compliation would be the 3 mains: KDL123 and the 3 home console platformers: Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Fun Pak and Kirby 64.

This confirms what I've thought for a while, that Kirby is a much more popular series than Metroid. My feelings are mixed on that.
This should have all the major platformers up to 64, imo.

Has it been confirmed for Wii yet?

It wouldn't be worth it for him to be involved in this in any substantial capacity, considering he's working on two Smash Bros. games right now. Nintendo will probably just give this to the same team that did All Stars anniversary edition.

That's a good thing, Kid Icarus Uprising is so much better now than what it was like when it was revealed at E3 2010.

Making a Kirby Anniversary for Wii is asinine. Kirby is mainly a handheld series, so the collection should be on Nintendo 3DS.

Wait, how is it mainly a handheld series? Some of the best Kirby games were the ones on home systems.

I've already played most of Kirby's best games, so I'll only get this collection if there will be a soundtrack or Kirby Air Ride.

The first 2 got (in many people's eyes) superior versions on Nintendo handhelds, Kirby debuted on he Gameboy, and I don't think many people would agree The Crystal Shards was one of the best Kirby games.

@Retro_on_theGo, I pretty much just listed the home system ones off the top of my head. I know 64 is kind of split on opinions between people loving it, hating it, and some were just "meh" but it still was a major game.

Kirby's Dream Land 1-3, Kirby's Adventure, Kirby Super Star and Kirby 64 are all safe bets to make the compilation. And I would think Kirby's Dream Course and Kirby's Avalanche both have a good chance of being on the disc too.
I'm not sure we can expect anything beyond that, though.
