Topic: Is New Super Mario Bros. Wii a remake of the DS version?

Is the game a remake or a sequel? The levels looks just like the DS version. Besides the enhancements, there doesn't seem to be much differences in terms of the levels.

they haven't really shown us a lot of levels, and they're reusing the look of NSMB DS graphics-wise, so with that in mind i don't think it's just a port of the original. it wouldn't make sense, really, especially with the addition of the new suit powerup thing and the ability to have four players at once. :3

I've played quit a bit of the DS one and this is not the same game enhanced. I wondered about that too, before I saw the video. Can hardly wait to play it.

I don't think so. The trailer showed new elements in the level design like the moving floors. also there's a new power-up. The propeller suit.

No, it's not. It's got eighty (new) levels, new suits, and four player multiplayer.

Knux

It's not a remake. It has the Koopa Kids, new suits, and the levels are not reused DS levels.

@cryptonic: That'd make sense if the levels were the same - but they're not. You might as well call Metroid Prime 2 a remake.

Or any other sequel in existence.

Did the DS version have 4-player co-op?
