Topic: is my wii sick? very noisy

when that disc starts spinning it's sooooooo noisy. kind of a high-pitched ju-on cry. ive had it well past warranty. just wondering if anybody else has had this problem. does it mean certain death for my wii? can it be silenced? already tried disc cleaner. im on a horse.
