Topic: Is my Wii Dead?

Over Christmas I got myself a fancy new Xbox and a Kinect and in the process of plugging it in, my Wii's power came unplugged. Up until now I haven't even tried to play my Wii, but today when I did it wouldn't turn on. The red dot on the front hasn't glowed for quite some time now, but I thought it was just because its plug wasn't in, but it turns out it was. So I tried restarting my power stip and plugging in to various outlets, but still no dice. The Xbox however works fine. Has a similar situation ever happened to any one else, or did my Kinect eat the soul of my Wii?

Unplug the wii power cord from the wall and off the system (not sure if second has to be done, but i did that when this happened to me after power went out.) I don't remember exactly haow long, but 3 min should do, I think. I looked up the info on Nintendos site when my system seemed completly dead (with no lights like yours.) Hope this works for you to. Tell me if it does, ok?

My Wii kinda died like that about 2 or 3 years ago thanks to the bug in Chapter 2 in some copies of Super Paper Mario. I pulled out the plug (wall FIRST), left it alone for a while, then put it back in after about 15 minutes and it started working again. Which seems to be the same advice other people have given you, but that's what worked for me, hope it does for you too!

That happened to my sister's Wii, and like others said, unplug the power cord from the wall and the Wii for a few minutes. It worked like a charm.

@ltg: idk about you, but i'm guessing it worked because he hasn't gotten back to us yet -- he just went back to playing his games, hahaha.
