I have a Wii U, but I want to get the Wii U sensor bar and the Wii Remote Plus and Wii Nunchuk so I can play old Wii games as they were intended. I'm just slightly concerned about space as my computer room is tiny.
How much space do you need to play these games that require a lot of motion control? I'd be sitting pretty close to the sensor bar as well. Probably about 30 to 45 cm away from it so you have some idea of how small the room is.
Do you think I'll have enough space? I've seen videos of people playing some games, and they have to do all kinds of weird stuff to play. I want to sit on my chair and play in a small space.
@Cromulent You don't need to be very far at all from the Gamepad's sensor, so if you're too near to the TV, an alternative could be to play the Wii game displaying on the gamepad.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@Cromulent
Yo !
Wanna play Wii games with Wii U gamepad ?
With room size 3 x 3 metre, you can play your Wii games with Wii U gamepad as Alternative monitor on your bed. Give the distance about 40 - 50 cm for Wiimote to Wii U gamepad. Make sure your Wii U gamepad located near of electricity, just in case if your Wii U gamepad run out its battery power, you can plug your Wii U gamepad onto electricity to charge the battery of Wii U gamepad.
If you play in small room, make sure your Wii games don't require a lot of movements like Wii Fit, Wii Sports, etc.
I still find it hilarious how few people know you can play all Wii games using just the gamepad. I beat all of Skyward Sword on just the gamepad during college when I had no TV.
On Wii U playing Wii games is easier because you can also use the GamePad as a monitor and as a sensor bar and it works as a sensor bar too even if you play on a TV. What you won't be able to do is to play games like Wii Fit, Wii Sports/Resort in such a tiny room because they require players to stand up and move arms and legs.
I played Xenoblade Chronicles and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (before it hit the Wii U eShop) on the Gamepad in vWii mode. My biggest gripe was requiring a TV to switch into the mode (can't remember if they ever fixed that).
After some time they added the option to play only in the gamepad, which didn't require you to aim at the TV with the Wiimote (You just press the + button on the remote).
@Yosheel Good to know, although now my problem is my eyes have aged and that screen seems a lot smaller than it once did. Just one of the many joys of mid-life.
