The single player is okay, but the online multiplayer is amazing. That's pretty much the game in a nutshell.

All right, so the original question was "is The Conduit really that good?". As I'm not a shooter fan, I was wondering the same thing, but from what I've seen, I'd have to say no. Saying "they tried" is nice, because very rarely does anyone try, but (for a parallel) that's still not going to turn a B- into an A.

About HVS. Something that had been bugging me for a while is that they have the appearance of being more concerned with their engine than the games themselves. The lack of focus or general trend in their games is very grating to me as it seems like they don't want to follow through on something to make it exceptional. Gyrostarr, for example (which I own and like) could benefit from moderate tweaking to make it a very good game, but right after they finish one, they move to the next, and in the end, none seem to be memorable.

Have you played it yet, WanderLust? I expected to be underwhelmed by it, too, but it's not half-bad. In fact, I think most of the criticism leveled at the single-player mode is a bit TOO critical. It's a lot of fun, though I admit I'm speaking as someone who isn't a big fan of the genre in general, so my viewpoint may not reflect that of bigger fans.

Yeah, I'm saying Metroid Prime 3 has poor controls DaDun, but you seem to think differently and I respect that. It's all a matter of oppinions.

The worse flaw with prime was that all of that could have been easily programmed with button, and adding motions did not add anything. That, and the Wiimote had a horrible tendency to lag, thus turning much later that it would have if I had used a Joystick, or sometimes misinterpreting movements and going haywire, forcing me to turn 360 degrees for a really small movement. I've adjusted the sensitivity settings, but it never felt quite right. I think The Conduit, with its fully customizable schemes is simply put, better, and better for more types of gamers in this department... although I still think a Gamecube controller would have done it just fine.

Don't let my location fool you. I'm Québécois, not Canadian.

I just finished playing online with The Conduit for the first time.

It's pretty effing awesome.

"I'm not a shooter fan". "From what I've seen". No, I haven't played it, and as I have plenty of games that I'm actually fans of to play first, it would have to be exceptional for me to play. Which it isn't.

And you really shouldn't have to play something to form an opinion on it. It's very east to form an opinion that you retract (such as the one that I had on GTA), but if you actually lived everything before you held an opinion on it, you'd be a very busy person.

It was just a question, friend; no need to get defensive. I also thought you'd be interested in the fact that my initial opinion was that it'd be underwhelming (as was yours), and I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure why you chose to lash out at me as though I'm some kind of nincompoop.

I dont get why the overall opinion of this game is 'dissapointment' when it seems to me the online is everything it promised to be, and seriously, who buys this for the single player?

Thanks, Sonic. I can't wait to edit all of his posts so that they contain loads of praise for Metroid Prime 3.
