I'd say it's good-average. I mean... it has fine controls compared to Red Steel and Metroid Prime and you can customize pretty much everything about the controls mechanics, but lack classic controls functionality. The Online multiplayer is a blast, but the lack of a local multiplayer is a very serious flaw. The game shines online, I'd say, mostly.

Are u saying metroid corruption had poor controls??? WHAAAA???? i really still think corruption is a better game than this. Its about even for controls and gameplay is better in metroid. However the conduit is alright but the real problem i have is that it is just alright. And this is resulting in people saying this FPS is good...for a wii game. since its made out to be the wii's redefining game...this is making everyone just believe this is the best the wii can do for an fps, and thats totally wrong, this game is alright yet not good enuf to hold the title of a memorable or revolutionary wii game, and that is the sad part of it all

I never specifically called YOU a fanboy.

I said Nintendo fanboys have a nasty habit of doing what you did. And that's true.

What reviewer said anything like that?

Gosh guys.. He never called YOU a fanboy; he just implied it.

I rented The Conduit and thought it was decent. The single player was rather lacking, but the multiplayer was good. I do agree with Alexsays about how HVS is screwing over wii owners. When I saw that they are considering the HD consoles for The Grinder and Gladiator AD, I was immediately thinking, what happened to you guys being the definitive hardcore experience on Wii? I also agree that if it wasn't for all the hype and the "The Conduit is the definitive FPS on Wii" crap they wouldn't be seen like how they are now. I do hope however, that they can actually pull through with The Grinder, make it Wii exclusive, and have a way better single player then conduit.

You keep saying this, but I'm still not getting it.

Then there's not much I can do because I've explained this several times, Sean.

They released an unfinished WiiWare game right after they announce The Conduit to hit Wii owners up for some quick and easy money. Then they follow that up with a few more mediocre titles while riding the High Voltage hype train.

Now we find out all those quick mediocre games have been netting them money for a game (riddled with bugs) they're trying to sell off hype? People have been seeing them as some "hardcore saviors" when they rely on hype to pass off their mediocre games as being anything decent?

This has proven one thing though. A developer can live off hype alone. If they hadn't said much about their games, their mediocre titles would rightfully fly under the radar and be seen as nothing special. If they didn't make it seem like they're the only ones "trying" - though other developers try a heck of a lot more, and produce results - and wave the pity flag, they wouldn't have the near the support they have now.

They're all about screwing Wii owners and making it seem like they're doing something great. You think all that talk about them caring for Wii owners is still legit now that they're considering other consoles?

KrazyKain wrote:

even if it didnt turn out how we hoped, its clear they wanted it to be perfect for wii owner, and they'll get it right in another try.

Yes, they failed this time but hey it's okay, because they'll get it right next time.

It's shocking the blind allegiance and faith these guys have gathered.

no its not shocking at all, your only seeing the finished product, i'm seeing the dev company, they asked the gamers what they wanted, the entire way trough they kept us informed and asked what we wanted kept the same, what we wanted changed. The entire development of the game was 'a labour of love' in every sense of the phrase. frankly i'm not all that bothered about the game but with companies like EA around who want nothing more then to milk franchises out of every penny they have, I have an incredible amount of respect for High Voltage Software because they take risks, and they listen to us, the gamers. they care.

As a smalltime games developer myself the mentality and morals that High Voltage Software have, has completely won my respect and I will continue to support them so long as they dont change their vision.

You have to accept that it was an honorable attempt at a great game, even if it didnt hit the mark, they did not cop-out with a port or overall just half assed attempt.

And you have to accept, based on how much was promised by the developers, an honorable attempt isn't good enough.

That's all they've ever had. "Attempts" at good games. Gyrostarr, their racing game, now The Conduit, all disappointing.

You come talk to me when they release that one great game they keep saying they're capable of making. Until then they're deceiving Wii owners, and a few others, into thinking they're better than they actually are.

I got it about a week ago and I have been playing a good hour or two on average a day and I am enjoying the single player mode, after I am done with that I will be playing it online and I have so far enjoyed it very much. It's not a ground breaker but I really don't care as I really go for playability and I could careless about how many colors or polygons it has.

You come back to this thread when you actually play those games and make an unbiased opinion of it (if that's even possible) rather than basing your opinions on reviews. Until then will your posts be valid.

I own one and have played two. Try again, chief.

And me playing a game and verifying the fact it isn't the game High Voltage promised will not help when it comes to the delusional High Voltage fans. I'm quite capable of forming a view of a game through videos, reviews, and other ways of seeing good portions of the game.

but they are NOT deceiving anyone, they are doing whatever they can to keep their promises. They worked very hard on the game, unlike all these ports on Wii...

Clearly you are jaundiced by some previous HVS game and refuse to look at any points other then your own, so arguing with you is pointless, i'm going to stop posting in this thread now.

Trying isn't everything. Some of us would actually like results.

Wow Alex,
it's interesting how angry you are about this conspiracy that HVS has set up. I can just see them in a meeting setting up the 5 year plan that I'm sure you're dead on about, which actually implies that they are the most amazing, gifted developers on earth and they simply sout out to dupe us all to make a quick buck.
I'm sure they didn't actually have any budgetary or technological constraints working on these games at all they simply took this approach to screw us out of our money :

" ok guys, we could easily deliver the most amazing racing game ever created in just a few months in HD for download on WW with endless online options, but instead lets just make a game that's kinda OK and then say we really stand behind it as a great game! Then everyone will buy it and we'll make a bunch of money! HA! Ha! Ha! (then all the other millionaire game designers join): Ha! Ha!",

" But wait! Then we can do it again as if we all just sit here doing the best we can to make good games for a system with limitations, and talk up our own efforts as if we want to be successful, and people will again throw money at us! Ha! Ha! We might even make enough that we can claim to make a really great FPS for the Wii, but then we can purposely make one that is only ALMOST a totally fun game for a system with lots of limitations and people will throw money at us again while we've secretly screwed them all! Ha! Ha! We can even make it sound like we support our own efforts and care what the users want in a game so we can make it better next time!"

" Ha! Brilliant! But secretly we'll have been able to make it even more perfect-er than any gamer or reviewer could ever handle, and they'll never get to see the true potential of our masterworks. We'll just play that one secretly here on our super-secret Wii HD's."

Fight the power man. Don't play it, I'm sure they'll go belly up soon without your 50 bucks. We need more rightous gaming defenders like you, to keep everyone honest and keep games all scoring straight tens/ A's/ 100's.

Okay, they may have done some duff WiiWare games, but I don't see a conspiracy to deceive and unless you know how much money those WiiWare titles you don't like made (I think a lot of people on this very board liked Evasive Space), then you're just making some pretty wild assumptions about subpar download games funding the biggest swindle in Wii history: The Conduit.

Give me a break. You're talking about a group of people you don't even know -- I suppose you have strong feelings about celebrities as well?
