I've been playing it since Tuesday and it's ok. Kind of has some Godfather like controls, where you can bash people into objects and push them around. The whip is pretty fun, and fighting controls work alright. There's flying levels where you control a plane holding the Wiimote like a control stick. I was surprised that the controls responded really well during it.

There's plenty of hidden treasures to find, and Glory to be obtained. The glories are fun. You obtain them by doing certain things, like bashing enemies a certain way during levels. They give incentive to go back and perfect some levels.

Overall, I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 but the fact that the Wii version has Fate of Atlantis as an unlockable earns it a solid 9001 out of 10.

Hmmm from your description I'd think it'd be an 8/10. I'll def play it at any rate.

i was wondering how this game was

The first big fight I got in I got whollopped pretty good. It takes some getting used to. You can do right/left hooks, right/left jabs, right/left upper-cuts, and some cheap grab and whip moves. Some opponents have certain aspects, like there's weak ones you can beat easily, and some tougher ones which you have to wait until they swing, dodge it and counter.

There's also items you can use, like shovels, bottles, pool balls. Most of the items you can also just pick up and throw at your enemy, which is pretty fun. You can whip bookshelves and pieces of the level and make them fall on people. The gunfights leave a little to be desired, but mostly you just hide behind stuff and shake the Wiimote to reload.

Really Fate of Atlantis is what made this a day 1 buy for me. If you are a fan of old school point-and-click adventures, it's one of the best and being able to finally play it on the Wii is awesome.

are the motion controls easy to use/ fun to use?

and probably most importantly, is using the whip fun?

They work pretty good. Like most Wii games ocasionally when you're in a fight it misses a swing at first. Once you get used to them you can pull off the swing combos a lot better. There are a lot of options for fighting which is nice.. The whip is easy to use, it will lock on to an item you can whip, and you just hold B and whip the wiimote. Some things you whip, like people/treasures you can pull back to you by jerking the Wiimote towards you. I think it adds a little to the game and doesn't feel like waggle-controls.

There's some points in the game where you shake the wiimote/nunchuck to run from danger, or escape a goon's grabs. I don't have any major gripes with the control scheme.

I'm terrible with names and would barely remember if they are, sorry I'm not sure.

o well he was the criminal that Indy fought in Temple of Doom (before he fought the sorcerer-looking guy)

sirgrim

Yea I had to look up who he was. Don't remember coming across him in the game, but I haven't beaten it entirely yet. I'll keep an eye out when I replay some of the levels for treasure and finish up.

How many hours would you say the overall game is?

Oh I got a question about this - what's the conversion of Atlantis like? Is it just identical to the PC version (and it had better be the talkie) or are there any changes? I'm kind of hoping the music will have been re-recorded etc - it's an awesome soundtrack so would be great to hear it sounding less like it came from a soundblaster.

The music and voice-overs are the same as the PC version. The music might have been touched up just a little, but the over-all score is just the same. The voice-overs are identical and just as awesome as they always were. The cat at the beginning even scared my cat.

The video looks a little dated like I expected, but it starts at a normal ratio not quite filling the screen. Good thing though is if you hit the 2 button it switches from normal, to 2x which fills much better, then 2x antialiasing which looks great on my widescreen TV. The save screen and everything feels exactly like the original.

@Awesome5: Not sure about the official length, doesn't seem overly long. Maybe 6-10 hours. Going back for Glory and treasures give some good replay value though, and there's also a hard setting. I'm playing on normal, and it can be hard enough for me.

Isn't there co-op in this game? If so, how is it?

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I haven't played the co-op, and probably won't unless there was online co-op. The book says it has a unique story line to it though.

Well, Godfather controls, co-op, decent length. Sounds good. How are the visuals?

They get the job done, but nothing overly awesome there. The cut scenes are pretty good, and the flying level looked real good. Not great, but not bad either. Maybe 6/10.

What game could you compare them to? Like, are they better then Godfather?
