Topic: In the future will you have nostalgic memories of the Wii?

I dunno. I've yet to really feel nostalgia about the previous generation's slate of games, so if it does happen, it won't be anytime soon. There is the nostalgia involved with the VC for sure, but that has nothing to do with the system I'm playing them on and everything to do with the game I'm playing.

I know I will, SMG will be one of my best memories with the console.

Probably, especially for Metroid Prime 3 and Okami. Damn those were good games. Maybe even some Wiiware and VC games, too, like Mega Man 9 and Bit.Trip BEAT.

I'm guessing you'll post this topic and you expect to see many comments like mine? If not I'm clueless.

You seem to complain about IGN a lot, so why go there? There are better forums with large communities.

And it isn't that it is a bad console, it is great, but in my opinion it is Nintendo's worst. Weakest hardware, bad 3rd party support (though they haven't had it very good since the N64), and horrible controls without a $20 peripheral, and Nintendo is focusing on casuals. Huge step down from last gen. Last gen it was the 2nd most powerful out of four, still had bad 3rd party support, it had the best controller I ever used, and Nintendo actually focused on gamers.

This is how I'll feel I think (especially, since I'll keep my wii if the next console's not backwards compatible). Drunken Kart tourney's with friends. SMG. The Wii brought me back into gaming, so there's definitely stuff to be nostalgic over in the future. Also discovering Ninty's back catalog gives me new old school nostalgia for games I hadn't played or hadn't played very much when they were out. Plus the N64 nostalgia. Plus actual childhood nostalgia if my Genesis ever kicks the bucket, because I can download those games too. That's a lot of nostalgia.

Exactly that. Because most people on the Wii on IGN is negative, I wouldn't be surprise if I saw a lot of people saying that they'll pretend the system never existed.

Then why go there? There are other forums with bigger and better communities.

I'll have some fond memories of Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Mega Man 9, and all the classic games I missed out on when I was younger. But it certainly won't be the console I remember the most fondly...

I'm not entirely sure. I pretty much only use the Wii for Virtual Console. So I'm having Nostalgia on the Wii right now because of that. I'm sure I'll have some for the Menu and the music for the menu, and the few good games for Wii, but that's about it.

Nostalgia for me ended with the N64/Playstation except for a few games on the PS2/Gamecube that I recall fondly. This "next-generation" of games (for all three consoles/PC) are decent but let's just say "they don't make games like they used to". Playing MarioKart Wii or Call of Duty 4 is nowhere near the level of fun that I had playing with friends on Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye. So far, no games on the Wii are "nostalgia-worthy" for me (except Metroid Prime Trilogy since it has Metriod Prime... and Okami... but I guess those don't count since they were GC/PS2 games).

If you ask about games specifically done for Wii, no nostalgia at all (unless Zelda TP counts).
