Topic: How would you guys react if Super Mario Galaxy 2 sucked...

I can't see how it possibly could suck. The first game is downright excellent in just about every respect, and merely implementing a bunch of the rest of the established ideas from the 2D Mario games in the same context ought to provide enough, without the need to do anything too radical or experimental.

Obviously it's not going to have the same impact and wow factor as its predecessor, but that's not really the same thing.

You don't have to be such a jerk about it. I actually did quite well with the game most of the time. There were just points that I found frustrating.

I'm also in the minority that thought the first Mario Galaxy is severely overrated, so I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't like its sequel

I severely doubt it'll SUCK, but it could be "not that great". Again, I kinda doubt it. SMG was over rated, but I didn't dislike it. I imagine 2 will be the same.

I'm sure we can all be friends even if we don't like Mario or we had trouble with some of the stars in Galaxy. This game definitely isn't on my list either, Waltzelf.

Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best 3D platformers ever, surpassing even Super Mario 64. From what I saw, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is going to even BETTER than these two games, so it won't suck. How can SMG2 suck anyway? There is no possible way.

I remember asking a similar question like this years ago on a band forum. I asked "what would you do if the next album (which was being hugely hyped at the time) sucked?". The thread imploded and I was called a hater because the next album couldn't possibly suck. Interestingly, the next album did suck to my surprise and I did exactly what I said I would. Forget about it and listen to all the other great music from all the other bands.

If Super Mario Galaxy 2 sucks, even though I really doubt it will, the world won't end. I am SUPER hyped about it but I am only really expecting more Galaxy levels. If it does fall short I am sure it will still be at least good. If it fails hard then at least I have Zelda to look forward to. If Zelda sucks then there is at least the 3DS on the horizon. If that sucks then I still have all these other games I already own that I know don't suck and I haven't finished yet.
