Since the thread already got it's answer I'll just throw a question out in the open:
What are you most excited for in Skyward Sword and why?
I'm most excited for the whole motion control theme actually. I love the idea of having all the weapons based on motion gestures. The whip just looks like a blast to use to me. Not to mention the swordplay, I loved it in Wii Sport Resort. So this is gonna be blast.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Graphics (while good) that are so brown (outside of a few areas including the Temple of Time and Sky City) that it looks like Resistance threw up all over Hyrule.
Gotta love a brown game.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
What are you most excited for in Skyward Sword and why?
I'm not really excited for anything specific, I'll be happy as long as the series keeps moving in the same direction Wind Waker and Twilight Princess did.
Nintendo has recently stated that while Ganon will not make an appearance in the Nintendo Wii game Skyward Sword, his appearance in Ocarina of Time will be foreshadowed and alluded to and will further expand on his origins. Skyward Sword connects to the story of Ocarina of Time, and will explain on the reason for Ganondorf's appearance. so it will explain why ganondorf was in OOT
i am hades true leader of the underworld. i must bid you ado
skyward sword also takes place before a link to the past because a link to the past has the master sword in it and the master sword is created in skyward sword so it takes place before a link to the past and a link to the past takes place before zelda 1 and zelda 2 so is skyward sword the first zelda game!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

We really need a game between LTTP and Zelda 1 where Ganon destroys all of civilization in Hyrule (since there are no towns or people outside of old men and main characters in Zelda 1, so I guess that's what happened)
...er...but yeah, LTTP was supposed to be the prequel, then OOT, now Skyward Sword. Miyamoto is not a big fan of direct sequels IIRC but he sure loves prequels.
Thwes a timeline but its kinda of diffcult to piece together. Thats mainly due to thethe timeline splitting in two according to most fans. The placment is somewhat like this
Minish Cap (first game in the timeline) Four sword Four sword adventure Link to the past Links awakening Legend of zelda Zelda 2 Skyward sword Ocrinca of time
Then the timeline spilts becasue oot has 2 endings Adult timeline Wind waker Phantom hourglass Spirt tracks
Child timeline Twilight princess

I don't see how this game connects to Ocarina of Time. All of the regions have the same names as in Twilight Princess, but the geography of Hyrule in Ocarina of Time is completely different, with different area names. I'm guessing Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess take place in a different version of Hyrule that's separate from Ocarina.
Maybe Ocarina takes place in the "New Hyrule" that is found after the events of Wind Waker, while Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess take place in the "Old Hyrule". This would explain why the regions have different names.
Skyward Sword explains the origins of the Master Sword, which then spawns the events of A Link to the Past and onwards. There is no Master Sword in Zelda 1 or Zelda 2, which makes me think they take place in an alternate timeline that is not connected to Skyward Sword, Ocarina, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, etc.

Yeah No. Ocrinca is on all the time lines and then they split off into the WW timeline and the TP timeline.
Also the Mater sword not being in Zelda I or II could be explained by it becoming forgotten over time.
The Timeline goes
Skyward Sword | Minish Cap | Ocarina of time - Wind Waker- Phantom Hourglass- Spirit tracks | Majora's Mask | Twilight Princess | Link to the past | Link's awakening | Legend of Zelda | Zelda II |

If Skyward Sword really is connected to Ocarina of Time, then why are the area names different? In Ocarina and A Link to the Past you have Gerudo Desert, Zora's Domain, Death Mountain, etc. In Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, you have Eldin Province, Faron Woods, etc. Hyrule's geography in Ocarina is completely different from Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess.

So does TP take place in the New Hyrule that was found after the events of Wind Waker?
Land Masses change names over periods of time. Groose Plants the Great Deku Tree The Reason the Hylian shield has a red Bird is due to the Hero of the Skies loftwing. Link and Zelda stay in the ground below and start Hyrule. (thus hyrule comes from Hylia) The Time gate from SS becomes the temple of time in OOT which is destroyed when TP comes around. Twilight Princess Directly shows the aftermath of OOT with Ganon being put on execution by the sages.
Skyward Sword Explains why Link/Zelda and gannon keep coming back. The Divine Prank from TP is apart of the curse. Even after Ganondawrf is killed we still get evil like the spirit track guys.
Skyward sword also explains why the Sheikah are loyal to the royal family.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
