Not only is it anamorphic but it's also 480p which already looks pretty poor on an HDTV. If you sit back far enough you'll hardly notice it. I've had an HDTV for 8 years now though I ditched my old 46" one about a year ago and just use a new 32" LED LCD now. I was going to get a 50" or 60" as well but I really don't care that much anymore and just have a bedroom TV.

That's the thing, your viewing distance makes all the difference. Plus again, sticking the Wii in 4:3 makes it look even better. I'm pretty much 9 1/2 feet away from my display. Yet there are many who sit around 6 feet away from their 50" 1080p plasma and that's how they play their wii games. Since their set up was idealy for HD content in mind considering they're only sitting 5 feet away just to experience all of that 1080p detail.

Wii games must look pretty crappy sitting that close, especially on a 50" incher. lol

play games that support 16:9 in 16:9 - its MUCH better
NEVER play 16:9 games in 4:3
if a game does not support 16:9 - change the display on the TV
try to not play games stretched

What I'm saying is that ya graphically speaking wii games look better in 4:3 on an HDTV..They're sharper/clearer and the difference is quite obvious compared to having it at Anamorphic 16:9

But i can't stand 4:3, as widescreen completely blows it out of the water just for being Wide screen and so god damn amazing, immersive, jaw dropping and magical to look at.

And sadly i experienced Kirby's Epic Yarn and NSMBWii for the first time on my 4:3 CRT....They still looked great(NSMBWii to a much lesser extent), but the fake widescreen really irked me as it cut down around 4 inches of my screen...Plus not having a Widescreen display(and a Black frame boarder since my CRT is a Silver piece of Space Junk)sucked to begin with.

Flash forward to now, where i have played NSMBWii(Along with Epic Yarn) on an HDTV and the Widescreen(especially), the progressive scan, the black frame plus the much larger image it blasted out was amazing....The same deal goes for Kirby's Epic Yarn. Also, i do have DKCR in my collection but I haven't played it yet, the same goes for Super Mario Galaxy 2 and A Boy & his blob which i'll only play once i get my new HDTV Plasma in a week.

Thank god I saved those 3, perfect timing.

I play on fullscreen because I have never really found any good reason to go widescreen.

As long as widescreen doesn't effect gameplay, I won't use it... unless My mom forces it.

I mainly stick to widescreen. Though in some games the text is just to small, So I'll switch to Fullscreen.

Titles such as Resident Evil Remake & Zero Archives are both ment to be displayed in 4:3.
Yet I'm not too sure about RE4: Wii Edition....I mean the original GCN version had those black bars on the top and bottom of the screen....Why I'm guessing was to limit the screen size so they could push and pump out more graphical power.

Flash forward to now, er...2007 with the Wii Edition, where the black bars have dissapeared and the image fills the entire screen if you own a Widescreen disply.....But it's basically just 'zoomed in' as to why it's regarded as one of the worst looking Wii titles when played on an HDTV, but again that's because it's just zoomed in...

You could always set it to 4:3 with the top and bottom widescreen bars on your HDTV to get the real deal if you don't mind losing some screen along with Black boarders in all directions blasting out of your TV.

I don't even know. Nor do I care, Metroid Prime Trilogy is what I use it for most of the time.

I usually have widescreen up when the Wii is hooked up to the TV in the living room, otherwise its hooked up to my computer...where widescreen doesn't work well. (can't even use full screen, since it makes everything look horrid. xD)

I'll finally be getting a Samsung 43" 720p Plasma tomorrow hehe. I'm pretty damn stoked!
Widescreen, Progressive scan, a black beautiful frame, the screen is 3" Larger , along with 720p/HDMI for Bluray/DVD's & PS3. I'm a little late in the game, but this is an absolutely fantastic little top notch plasma and the killer price tag' is the bodacious icing on the rainbow cake.

Knowing me I'll most likely be posting some shots of the Wii in action. Most likely for Super Mario Galaxy(first person mode in Honey Hive Galaxy hehe), NSMBWii & Kirby's Epic Yarn ect ect.

I play it with surround screen. I have to have my catmaids help watch my back to tell me when an enemy is approaching. Hard to watch all around me at once

sitting at 9 1/2 feet away eye distance-wise from a 720p or 1080p 43" yields no difference to the eyes in resolution, that's why. Anyways, I only plan on keeping this until the Wii U hits which is where I'll upgrade to a 50" 1080p 3D HDTV. This 720p 43" Samsung plasma is on sale until the 29th for only $449, such a steal!

Why's that WaveBoy, will the WiiU be able to display in 3D? Or does the TV convert anything into 3D?

There was an Article where Nintendo mentioned that the Wii U/Wii U titles will in fact support 3D, even though Nintendo is against the whole 3D glasses thing. It's still a smart move considering the PS4 will be boasting the 3D in full force. So at least Nintendo can say that they 'also' support it instead of being left in the dust in comparison to this gen where the Wii was HD-less.

to me, 3D is a HUGE deal. I wan't to get the most out of my system, and the thought of playing A NextGen Wii U Mario game, with insane graphics in HD on a 50" 1080p screen blasting out 3D seems too good to be true.

Yet there are just 2 more things i want to know. Ya wii know the Wii U Supports 1080p via HDMI, but are the 'games' 1080p? I have a the teeniest feeling nintendo Wii u games will instead be 720p....But at the same time, the majority of HDTV's on the market are 1080p so it would be kind of weird if they went against that. Also, sound wise i'm guessing Nintendo will just stick with Dolby Digital 5.1 which is heaps and bounds better than DPLII....Who knows, they may actually go DTS HD Master 5.1, but i guess we'll have to wait and see.

i play full screen when the game allows it, i never really understood the point of widescreen all it looks like to me is using a small portion of the screen to view the content

thats like you might as well not get a big tv if its not going to use the whole tv screen.
