My wii's sensor bar has stop working a few days ago, the sensor bar will no longer respond to the wii remotes movement unless it is close to the sensor bar. I have had a second wii set up latly and I put the sensor bar's on top of each other and I think this has caused this proublm. Is there a way to buy a new sensor bar from Nintendo or fix my old sensor bar?

Have you tried turning up the sensitivity on your sensor bar? i believe it's in the Wii Settings...

two sensor bars being set up near one another shouldn't permanently damage one another, I don't think. Have you made absolutely sure that there's nothing else electronical near the sensor bar (cell phones, speakers, a radio, etc.)? Did you accidentally set up your sensor bar for the wrong position (does it think it's on top of the TV when it's actually below it, or vice versa)? is there anything between your wiimote and the sensor bar that could be blocking the infrared signal (cups set up on a table, etc.)? I would check all of these possible problems and try to recalibrate the sensor bar again.

The sensor bar is on top of the tv so unless the TV counts I have no electical items nearr the sensor bars. The strange thing is that it is now happening for both wii's and it works normally for a mintue then cuts out. There is nothing between the couch and the wii's.

But I had them on top of each other which I think has caused the proublm

wait, are you saying both bars are still stacked on top of one another? or are both sensor bars still facing the wiimote as you attempt to use it? try unplugging the one for the wii that is currently not in use and see what happens.

Yeah, four lights might be bad. OMG I wanna do the joke tbd, heeeelp. D:

Anyway yeah, even tho u r playing one Wii, power is probably going to both sensor bars, or you''re getting interference from elsewhere. It'll be something simple I promise. xD I'll come round yeah, have a look.

No, There is only one wii set up at the moment with one sensor bar. I just tried changing the sensitivity and it was decating the remote from a bit away but as soon as I got out it went dead and it picked up nothing

Do you have another wiimote to try? Have you tried changing out the batteries in your current wiimote?

If nothing has worked, I'd try the candle trick next. Unplug the sensor bar from the wii, set a pair of burning candles about as far apart as your sensor bar is wide in front of your TV, and then try re-calibrating the sensor bar. if that doesn't work, call Nintendo's support hotline, because I'm out of ideas, hahaha. :3

Me too. =D But still one of the most awesome Picard moments ever!

On the sensor bar thing, is there any glare on your screen or light sources between your couch and the sensor bar? That'll cause interference sometimes.

Just make sure you don't fling the Wiimote at the TV. A) You will break your TV, and B) will set your house on fire.

Sometimes when I'm trying to use the pointer, it just randomly skips around the screen and it really bugs me. I'm thinking it something up with the sensor bar. Can someone help me out please?

@Wizzy
Just turn the sensitivity up. I guess if that doesn't work you may just have to get closer. Welcome to NintendoLife, by the way.
