I am waiting for my mayflash adapter to arrive so I can use gamecube controllers on my wii u. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could use a gamecube controller for this game instead of the wii controller and nunchuk?
Thanks

nope, only wii mote and nunchuck for wii version

Do you like videogames? If so, you must know

Dang. That's no good. I guess I will have to try and hunt down a gc version.

Have you even tried the motion controls? Seriously they're very easy and simple to use in an hour or so you won't even know the difference. Aiming your bow with the wii mote can be a little akward at first, but it's really not a big difference. I think many people like you dramatically exaggerate the difference or challenge in using motion controls, in fact i'd argue for this game the sword swinging mechanics made them feel obviously superior. In some games they can be annoying for sure, but a game like this institutes little more than a waggle (aka the most convenient button ever) or like i alluded to earlier the very occasional and item specific uses of the pointer function. You still move with a control stick and use a variety of buttons for items, the only difference is occasionally using the pointer and the superior sword swinging.

The only excuse i see for your position is you've played Skyward Sword and the more complicated motion controls in that game made you leerly of the controls in this one. I won't lie to you, your opinion comes off as some combination of poor research and close mindedness, which in fairness is something we can all be guilty of quite regularly. Try the game out, in an hour or two you'll be used to it. Remember the game was developed for Gamecube originally, it's only slightly enhanced with the motion controls. It's ridiculous to fret over the slight changes. I grew up on NES and SNES and i adapted just fine, decades of controller gaming and all.

Sorry if I am too close minded for you.
I'm a student with a very limited gaming budget.
I'm not going to buy a game and force myself to play it for a few hours to get used to the controls that I may not like. I have played skyward sword and just did not like it due to the controls. I have played other wii games which involved the wii controller and nunchuk. I can't say I enjoy the nunchuk.
I'll just save up for a game I know I will like.
I haven't found a game where I like the wii controls with the nunchuk yet.
Don't worry, there are lots of people who like the nunchuk. I am not one of them.

What is wrong with the Nunchuck? The thing is as close to a regular controller as you can get.

And like Kevlar44 already said; Skyward Sword =/= Twilight Princess. Skyward Sword used Motion Plus, and made sure that every nook and cranny was smeared with motion control sauce. Twilight Princess is the exact opposite. It barely uses motion control, and when it does, it knows very well how to handle it. They made sure that when the motion controls are necessary, that they are convenient and intuitive.

Dude I hate using the slingshot with the Wii remote lol. When it says point at the screen I do and it takes like 10 secs of moving it around to finally work.

I found a used copy for $10 including shipping, hopefully it is worth that.
I've disliked every game that relies on the nunchuk.

I can relate to this, I didn't really like TP's WiiMote controls, either. They weren't really bad or excessive, but still tiring, especially when fighting against bosses. I can definitely recommend the GC version, since the controls work just as well without pointing and swinging around.

I had no problem using the Wii mote + Nunchuck.
I know some might disagree, but I find this to be the most comfortable controller setup in my eyes

GCN version is much better for the controller. Sounds like your like me and don't like the Wiimote+Nunchuck much.

Personally I love the controls for Twilight Princess for the Wii, had zero problems with it. Looking back I think Nintendo should of also added gamecube/classic controller support for the Wii version, but it makes sense seeing how TP was a launch title for the Wii and Nintendo probably wanted to push the idea of motion controls through.

Hi can anyone help me?
I've just completed The Temple of Time quest and got Renado's letter (when I warped to Castle town) to visit him at his sanctuary. So I went to Telma's bar and got the red circle on my map. When i arrived at kakariko village and went inside his house, he (renado) wasn't there, just a bunch of kids saying something about the gorons. So I figured that i should complete the goron mines but when i arrived there, they wouldn't let me into the mines as two gorons were blocking the doorway and saying that the elder didn't give permission for me to enter. Can anyone help me?

You're supposed to give the letter to Telma and then get an invoice for the doctor, which you should present to him.
You're not supposed to go the mines at this time, as far as I know.

I have played the Wii version most of the way through and I did not like the motion controls. I really wish Nintendo would've left the option in for GameCube controls as I shouldn't have to buy a second copy just for that (but at least glad I did before it became more expensive).
I also had trouble aiming as the cursor would often go off-screen. And I recall repeatedly dying to Darknuts because it wouldn't detect the motion for one of the secret moves (which as I recall would make them weaker and easier) right (something with the nunchuck, I can't remember right away).

I remember the flaming wagon part giving me a huge amount of trouble but I can't recall if it was due to the motion control or just the camera.

I don't remember having much trouble with the controls in the Wii version. At least, not anywhere near enough to actually die in this game.

I don't like playing this with motion controls either. I consider Twilight Princess the last (or latest) great Zelda console game, after that they started experimenting. So I too want to own this game with the classic control pad configuration and not with waggle. To me, classic Zeldas should be played in classic comfortable style, which can only be a control pad..

"I'm a student with a very limited gaming budget."

So limited that you have a current gen system and can afford to buy hardware and software on whim. >_>
