Topic: Guys, I'm worried that I'm losing intrest in the Wii.

Recently, I've realize that I haven't played my Wii in a long while. Since I enjoy the Wii and think it's a great video game console, regardless of what Wii haters think, I don't want to my Wii to rot in my closet when my PS3 arrives. Since I'm not allowed to buy games for the Wii until Christmas or even WiiWare or Virtual Console, I need help on how I can recapture my intrest on the Wii to further prove that the Wii does not suck.

Play the games you got now with friends. Like ssbb if you have it.

this same thing has been happening to me
ive found myself playing less wii and more PC and DS. even new games dont keep my interest for long. i think its due to the lack of games that pique my interest since i am a (delibrately avoiding the word hardcore) serious gamer. im hoping that once i get muramasa and metroid prime trilogy my interest will peak again

I can't seem to explain my problems, other then the fact that I spend way too much time on the computer. There are a lot of games that I'm really intrested in that will never be on the PS3/360.

Get a girlfriend and when you lose interest in her simply dump her and go back to your Wii. Happens again I prescribe repeat, repeat and more repeat !

IM going thru the same phase, since i been saving for a ps3 too. For me its worse though, ive traded in 7 or 8 wii games in the past month and my collection is only 9 wii games now (but theyre my favorite 9 that im not trading). I figure that when i get a ps3 ill be getting better versions of games already on wii, like i can replace my 4 player splitscreen james bond shooter with CoD MW2, dragon ball z with Street fighter IV, and more like that. I dont really mind my loss of interest lately since its ultimately good to play less games or not want to play so much during the school year, so by losing a lot of games (except medal of honor 2 and SSBB) and interest in the wii, im also giving myself a better chance to be focused in class. However once xmas comes and i have my ps3/blu ray lol, it may go downhill from there school wise jks

@Devil_Hunter_Dante: That is a terrible idea. I am no that kind of person who wants to mate with many girlfriends, I rather try to stick to one. And no, I don't have one. Your idea will not work.

The Wii has TONS of good games, never quit playing your Wii even when you do buy a PS3.

I was losing interest in my Wii, but once I got Metroid Prime Trilogy and Pikmin (NPC) I was glued to my Wii. Try renting a new game.

@DaDun: I thought my situation was bad, even thought I only turned in about five games combined for the Wii and DS. More focus in school is probably the only good thing about losing intrest about the Wii, not even the PS3 can make up for that.

I am suggesting help from everyone.

@fudgenuts: There's a problem. I am broke and my grandparents are running out of money, so renting is a no go. Also, renting is basicilly wasting money.

Since you are not allowed to buy any games do you have or know anyone you could simply borrow a game off of or are you allowed to rent games ? I am assuming you are in school still and such. Hey, sorry for the bad advice earlier Super !
Could always just accept a break from gaming for a while and come back in a few weeks or a month or so. Maybe your just burnt out and need a break. Well best of luck to ya

lol i dont really regret my trade ins cuz honestly, they were all 1 player games ive beaten, i got 80 bucks for 5 games i traded in today actually (bringing my ps3 savings to $190!). Fudgenuts' idea is good, try renting a new game.

Ultimately though, i think if u have school coming up like me, its a good thing in a way to not be focused or super interested in video games. We all know phoenix wright is a lawyer and the trauma center cast are doctors, but they dont have to read, we do, to obtain jobs like that. Stay focused man, especially if ur grade 11 or 12, u need those years. (im starting 11, so losing some interest is great).

Finally, one thing else u can do is use ur now "no longer into wii as much" time to play sports, exercise, or stay with friends, those things do benefit u a lot.

EDIT Renting is not wasting money, buying a full priced game and then thinking crap i hate this i want to trade it back and lose a lot more money than i would have if i just gave the game a rent first is wasting money. However, renting is usually when ur on the fence about a game.

@DaDun: Your idea in paragraph 3 is a great idea to spend time with my family and friends more. Plus, if I'm not always overly addicted to the computer, I can help my family more.

that is a great thing indeed, your family usually isnt so boring if u just spend time with them, and who knows, maybe one day u can play some wii sports or brawl with ur pops or something. I have a friend who plays a ton of smash bros with his dad and i envy him for it, i really wish my dad would do that with me (for me its not because i dont talk to him, i always do, he just cant use controllers at all and doesnt like games xD).

Also, going out to play a sport with your pops or chatting with ur moms about classmates and stuff like that is strangely very amusing and entertaining. Doing these things with friends as well are also great. You do have lots of options, i just hope all this advice im giving u doesnt turn u away from gaming permanently though lol.

But on a serious note, theres really a lot of stuff out there to do, just look around and throw urself out there and ull realize theres lots of fun things to do other than wii and games. i will admit though, video games, computer and technology are all so very addicting, i play on these toys A LOT too, im no angel here. But i do take time away every now and then to do other things, hope u can do the same and be happy about it.

Same has been happening to me, except I don't have a DS since I sold it. I want a PS3 more and more. I just need new games. Buy as many games as possible.

There is always the option of pi**cy. Try hacking your Wii and getting a few WiiWare games.

oh come on.... Just because you have a videogame console doesn't mean you HAVE to play with it every day, the whole year, the whole week. I have a wii, I love it and I don't play with it everyday for many reasons. Lately is because I haven't bought new games (I won't have money until next month) and I teach both in the morning and the afternoon but I still play with my VC games and Mario Kart online often.

and if you have the "not wanting to became a wii hater" mentality then chances are that you already don't like the wii and just looking for an excuse to "not hate it". Then get rid of it and stop suffering.

Me? I am very happy with my Wii and I prefer to play few quality games once in a while than tons of mediocre ones 24/7.

If your losing interest dont play. Only play when you actually want to play. Dont force yourself. Eventually a good game will show up that will peak your interest and you will be glued to your wii again. A break might be good for you too. I stopped playing for like 3 months one time, and when I started getting back into it, the games felt so much more fun! Come to think of it... I might need one of those breaks pretty soon.

if you force yourself to like the Wii you're going to "not like" it even more. hopefully a new game will come along that will pique your interest, and there are plenty of games out there to choose from.
