^huh? what have you seen that you don't like? there's not much to know about the controls at this point, but you can play using any controller you want and they're supposed to be adding in full customization, so there should be at least one scheme to please everyone.

finally found the video with the control options screen in it:
[youtube:u1W3v8ndPeA]
unfortunately the guy doesn't open the wiimote menu, but you do see "wii remote settings" and "advanced wii remote settings" listed, making it pretty clear there'll be a lot of options if they needed two menus.

finally gave in and preordered it today, other m's done and i need another sweet sweet fix of anticipation.

plus, look at how cool the pistol is (i don't think it's a ppk anymore)

It looks like it still is. Here is a real life version, without a silencer:

That's definitely a P99. I have a Walther P22, so I know that's not it, and Daniel Craig's Bond uses a P99 in the films, as does Brosnan. I think they both use a PPK at some point, also, but I'm not sure. The P99 is also the gun used in Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, and Everything or Nothing. I don't have Quantum of Solace, so I'm not sure about that one.

if you're talking about auto aim then i'm pretty sure it's in there, what makes you think it won't be? some of the videos may have been shot using a wii remote, which doesn't use auto aim, but i'm sure the analog controllers do.

I dont remember if this had been mentioned but is there going to be Online play with this one?

of course, you can do 8 players online or 4 players offline. there are even bots, something the original sorely lacks after playing perfect dark.

The only footage using the Wiimote+Nunchuk is the single player footage I think, the rest has all been done with the Classic Controller Pro. Are bots confirmed by the way? I remember them saying they've improved the bots from Quantum of Solace but nothing else since then.

Also it seems they updated the Goldeneyegame.com game so you can get a good look at Blofield and Baron Samedi.

EDIT: Also the game has been rated by the ESRB. http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=29824&am...

Teen seems like the right rating to aim for, even with the grittier Craig bond we don't need blood and guts everywhere.

whole bunch of new stuff today. this looks like it could be the escape from the facility:

apparently the tank lets you destroy entire buildings:

and this is basically a good impression of a few levels. objectives apparently work just like in the original: http://spong.com/detail/editorial.jsp?eid=10110210&page=2

It seems to me like it would be easy for them to make regenerating health optional. That way they could please both camps.

There's a difficulty mode which gives you the classic health circle and require you to replenish through health and armour pick us so it is in fact optional.

i definitely don't like regenerating health either. if there were one thing that says "call of duty" all over it, it's that. being stuck with the health you have is part of the goldeneye gameplay and the whole 'blood on the screen when you're about to die' mechanic is really lame. i'm glad you'll be able to play classic style though, i just hope you don't have to do anything to tough or too late in the game to unlock it.

@romulux: Well, the impressions did say that it was the most difficult mode, and in the original GoldenEye you had to beat all the missions in 00 Agent difficulty to unlock 007 difficulty...

I'm also against regenerating health, by the way, but it appears that the days of desperately scrambling for health and armor pick-ups are going to way of the poodle and our primitive notions of modesty so I'll get used to it...

"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."

if you watch there are a lot of pistols in this game; good news, because that's all i like to use. haven't seen the DD44 yet (edit: it's at 0:57, but it's black now. better still rule) but i've seen guards using it so i know it's in there. too bad the new levels shown look so much like modern warfare...

A tad off topic but, the DS version is so blocky... it's nostalgic looking

Like that's hard.

i just hope they understand that making the definitive wii shooter involves, you know, wii controls. i'm getting worried over how they still haven't shown off the wiimote and nunchuck to testers yet. customization options are there, but if red steel 2 proved anything to me it's that customization doesn't guarantee a comfortable scheme. it'll be baffling if they ignore the wii's one best asset, a controller specially designed for FPS, and plow ahead as if they were making it on the HD consoles.
