My dad let me and my brother play games like Doom when we were younger. I can't say my mother approved that much of it. Eh. Anyway, I never saw anything wrong in blasting pixelated demons.
On the other hand, I have qualms about playing games such as Postal 2 where you can go on rampage on innocent bystanders. Fans of the game always like to argue that "Oh, you don't have to do that! You can just do the mundane things, too!" Yeah, but that isn't the point of the game, is it now? Manhunt is also a game I never would touch with a ten-foot pole. There's got to be something wrong with a person to enjoy that type of game.
Excitebots as Nintendo decided us Europeans were not worthy
Yeah well we never got Disaster Day of Crisis. So there.
Yeah North America definitely got the better end of the deal there. lol
Disaster lived up to its name.
I saw most sites giving it 8s so it doesn't seem bad. Scratch that it didn't get too many good reviews And did you get banned from gamespot or something?
Actually come to think about, there was something that my Parents prevented me from playing...
The CDs that came on the front of PC and Mac Magazines back in the day, some idiot told them that viruses could be on the discs and my Mum went mental about it and started to throw away any freebie discs I got from PC and Mac magazines I got back in the day.
Super Mario. My parents are afraid I might start eating tons of mushrooms and jumping on people. They also won't buy me waterguns for the same basic reason.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
I wasn't allowed to get M games until I was 18. Since then, I have probably bought 8 of them, and just as many E to T games. To me, I don't care what a game has been rated or why, it only matters if I enjoy it. Case example: I have Kingdom Hearts II next to Run Like Hell and God of War II right now on top of my PS2.
[21:14] pixelman: I blame fheblackdragon
[21:15] pixelman: That's not an f by the way, it's a fancy t.
[21:15] Objection: Tales of Graces "fancy t"
[21:15] Objection: Tinal Tantasy
[21:15] theblackdragon: lol OB
[21:15] pixelman: OB knows what he's asking about.
That has no bearing on the fact Excitebots is indeed a better game.
A decent racer or what is considered to be a poor action game that Nintendo even said wasn't going to be released because of "quality issues". Yeah, tough choice.
I can usually buy any game I wish, mainly because my parents trust me enough to make decent decisions. Plus, I hardly buy any M rated games anyway. I only have 6 of em anyway. I find myself playing mainly T rated ones these days for some reason.
When I was young games didn't really have age ratings. Despite being underage, I had Mortal Kombat, Doom and Night Trap and it never occurred to either my parents or myself I wasn't quite old enough. I only got denied in a shop once for trying to buy one game back in the 90's - and I was gutted as it had a very limited release meaning I was only able to pick it up nearly a decade later via e-bay. The loooooong wait to play it was worth it though.
my mom just won't let me any gory game, even if it's rated for teen (i'm 15) she can't see me with blood on the scree or shooting someone, even if it's not with a gun... sucks
truth is a lie and justice is illegal. i can resist everything but temptation.

I'm a big boy, so I don't have anyone telling me what I can and can't do. The only time I ever had trouble getting to play a game was when I was 11 and asked my dad to buy me Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition for my birthday. He almost did, but then he looked at the back of the box and decided no. I eventually bought it by myself though, and it turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time.

Be happy you have parents that care.
A lot of teens lack that.
I agree and well said
Hmmm, altho i agree with that too, i personally dont believe that parents who LET, or better yet TRUST their children to play certain games above age should be regarded as parents who don't care about their kids, i think it cud be looked at as they trust in their kids maturity to know the right from wrong in video games. My parents don't encourage my COD WaW, but they allowed me to have it after really wanting it because they said i trust u will never emulate what you are doing or believe in real life any of this is right. Its just a game and i believe many peoples parents, but not all, allow their kids to buy these games because they trust in the judgement of their kids and know their kids realize its just a game and should not be referred to or replicated in real life at any point. Im 16 now and despite my parents not liking COD, they know that i wont take anything from the game to my head.
