That's actually very hard to say..I like many but the most influentual character(who I admire the most and like very much) comes from a visuel novel...does that count?
If yes Archer from Fate/stay night if not I really like Naoto from Persona 4. Wish Naoto got more character progression because the character is probably the most interesting of the Persona 4 cast.
Then we've got Sheik/Zelda. Love the idea, caught me back then and probably my favorite side character.
And as a bonus I'd like to mention Zidane from Final Fantasy 9. My first Final Fantasy, favorite Final Fantasy, favorite class(always love thieves in RPGs) and also favorite character from the whole series.
I'll try to just do one character from each series since if I didn't, a Top 3 would basically be all Sonic characters.
