Looking for an easy still fun platformer. Disc based or downloadable doesn´t matter. Suggestions.

Klonoa is a fun platformer so I've heard and it is only $30. I ordered a copy for myself and am now waiting for it to get here.

I rule when it comes to games. So deal with it.

Lostwinds - Wiiware
Warioland:Shake it - Disc
Any Mario (1,3,world,64 - VC) (Galaxy - Disc)
Klonoa - Disc

I would recommend all of the above as not too difficult quality platformers.

Kirby's Adventure (VC)

I'd recommend Wario: Shake Dimension if you want a easy platformer. It's lots of fun, looks great but it's not too hard.

Adventure Island the Beginning is better than whats mentioned above. Wario isn't much fun

Yoshi's Story is an easy platformer and more fun than the review would suggest. Easy and fun platformer would describe this game almost perfectly! Great for kids to play also!

You can't go wrong with Klonoa!

Wario Land: Shake It!: A fun disk-based platformer that's fairly easy for the most part. Just be warned about the extra levels. They can be brutal.

Also try any Kirby platformer, including Kirby's Adventure and Kirby's Dream Land 3, Shinobi III, or Super Metroid (they're not too hard). All of which are on VC.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and Klonoa, of course.

Kirby 64 (VC). Less challenging than Adventure and good fun. Quite different from other Kirby games though.

Yoshi's Story (VC) is a good one as it's a point scoring game mainly, so it's as difficult as you want it to be. You can blast through the Story Mode, but if you want a challenge later on you can give the Trial mode a go. It's also more innovative than many give it credit for. Just make sure you know where the mute button is.

I would say Super Mario World (VC) is the easiest Mario platformer but also has quality level design like the others.

SMB1, SMB3, and Galaxy are all easy enough and fun, it just depends on how long you want to be playing it to complete the game. Any Kirby platformer is also good fun.

@Richardo91 - Klonoa is a good suggestion I am sure... it's out on the 22nd May in Europe. Might be worth preordering?

Some of my favourite easy platformers: Kirby Superstar, Yoshi's Island, Klonoa 2 (I'm sure Klonoa 1 is just as good).

Also, I recently completed Giana Sisters DS. Good fun and the easiest platformer I've played in years.

Doremi Fantasy on the VC is one of my favorites.

Thanks for all suggestions. I think I have a go for Wario shake or Klonoa. Has anybody tried Donkey Kong Jungle Beat?

Platformers my 8 year old has tried and are happy with:
SMBG, SMBW, SMB2, SMB3, Mega Man 2, Kirby Adventure (The only one finished), Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Lego Star Wars

Not so happy with:
SMB1, Yoshi Island, Kirby 64, De Blob, Sonic Unleashed, Lego Batman, Mega Man 9 (wow this was really hard)

Yeah, forgot about Jungle Beat. Great game! One of my favourites on the Cube, in fact.

Okami is more of a Zelda-clone, but it does have some platforming to it, although it's more the PlayStation you-have-a-mascot-and-you-run-through-places-and-sometimes-jump platformer style than the Nintendo my-god-man-jump-for-your-life style.

Super Paper Mario is like classic Mario platforming mixed with the occasional Zelda puzzle. The platforming isn't very demanding, but it's definitely the major part of the game.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga may be enough of a platformer for your tastes, although again the focus is mostly on action and puzzling.

If you don't mind GameCube games, Sonic Adventure 2 is probably the last great Sonic game that will ever be made; although it has some problems. Super Mario Sunshine, of course.

To the guy that said Super Metroid isn't too hard, go fight Ridley again. Is it Battletoads Hard? No, but it's certainly the farthest thing from the mind of someone thinking "easy platformer". Someone thinking "contender for the title of Best Game Ever", sure, easy, no.

Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap (actually, get Dragon's Curse, same game but with a savefile rather than passwords) and Wonder Boy in Monster World are both available on the VC, are both fairly easy and are great fun.
