Seems Wii has a kick looking classic set of 3 arcade games to hit the Wii later this year exclusively only for $30 and it's Dragon's Lair 1, Dragon's Lair 2 Time Warp and Space Ace. Seems they're shooting for arcade perfect, but also stuffing in other little bits to help out newbies, people with bad memories, or those who just love Don Bluth animation a ton. There's a beginners mode with move guides, and also watch mode to just watch all 3 games run themselves (with the flashes) like a full on cartoon short. Also it's nice to see normal and wide screen shoved in there and they're cleaning up the original animation by remastering it too.

I never was particularly fantastic at DL learning about 1/2, barely could get much of anywhere into Space Ace as it's nasty, and I've always wanted to try DL2 but never found it.

Anyone else here a fan of Dirk the Daring or Space Ace?

I'm so in on this. I'm still after somehow missing it and learning of it a day or two ago am tempted to nail down DL1 on the DSiware, but I wouldn't know what to do with the other $2.

Insta-buy for me, as i've put off buying these games for too long -- was going to buy the DVD versions a while ago, but i think i got distracted by Robotech box sets or something. I didn't play too much Space Ace back in the day (but did enjoy the Saturday Starcade cartoon), but loved Dragon's Lair.

She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong.
Urban Champion is GLORIOUS.

Ahh I had those robotech stand alone dvds years ago. I gave up keeping them around as they just are too time consuming to watch so I remembering it so as a kid (voice/visuals) ditched them for the 2 compilation paperbacks that mirror those Macross Saga DVDs.

Dragon's Lair I'll definitely grab as the price is too low to ignore especially with the helper flashes and then the option to watch essentially 3 30min Don Bluth cartoons start to end playing out the 3 stories.

In the arcade, in the 80's, Dragon's Lair was the first game a lot of people saw that had a separate TV on top of the arcade machine, so people standing around could watch you play without crowding up on you.

This game could be interesting on Wii. It has been released on a thousand other platforms, but I don't have it.

Yeah that's my thing I don't have it anymore either. I had the GBC copy years ago and it was stunning they got down to a 2bit(4color) palette the entire laserdisc game minus 8 moves and shortened up the die/reborn cutscenes. I also had a CDi long ago, had it and Space Ace on there as well. But as I said, the 'show me' type mode and then the just watch the cartoon mode is really what's getting me interested.
