Topic: Donate Wii?

Is there anywhere I could donate my original Wii? I hate to just take it to electronics recycling. I use the two Wiimotes I have with my Wii U, so they wouldn't go with the Wii. Also, is there any personal information on the hard drive of a game console? Should I try and wipe the drive before getting rid of the console?

just take it to goodwill or another local thrift store, and as far as I know the wii system doesn't store any credit card data or anything because it makes you reenter it every time you buy something so you should be fine.

There is an option under Wii settings to format your hard drive. I'd recommend doing that before you donate your console.

Have you considered putting an ad online? Not sure where you are exactly, but Craigslist or Kijiji or Freecycle or other similar websites are a great way to get rid of stuff you don't want while helping to make someone else's day.
