I was surprised you thought it was easier, too, but it's great you're enjoying it. DKC is just fantastic.

more difficult: you gotta be very accurate, timing is everything
way less difficult imo: less (annoying) enemies, less multitasking

In one of the castles of Super Mario World (I believe the third one), you're being chased by a wizard who shoots stuff at you, in the mean time enemies are walking around there + fire balls jump up trying to hit you. That kind of stuff drives me nuts, I just can't get through it lol.

DKC is by far the best platformer I have played. It's amazing, so intense. During Mine cart carnage I was holding my controller so tightly I thought I was gonna break it :')

Yeah Donkey Kong Country is kinda slower paced. Enemies are bigger. You never haves platforms that are as smaller than you are.
