CoD is probably revolutionary in terms of FPS popularity. Xbox and PS perhaps in their own ways but totally off topic.
So nearly everything popular is revolutionary?
No this is totally on topic. It helps define your misinterpretation of what a revolution actually is. If you guys think every console and popular game is a revolution, then there's not much I care to go on about. I can't make you guys know what words mean.
Now if you all try to say the Wii is revolutionary, but Kinect, PS Move, Halo, etc. are not, then we have another problem because you're directly contradicting yourself.
Everyone agrees that Wii's motion control was a revolution. I think the OP was asking about the console other stuff like the VC etc.

[/div]
Um no we don't, what do you think the last couple pages have been about?
And if you all try to argue that the virtual console was revolutionary, this thread is going to be the butt of a few jokes for me.
[/div]
I'll take that as a no.
And who's we? you and whose army? However, nothing like the VC had ever been done before or really has since. So yeah, I'd say that's revolutionary.
You realize there are other people that have said no as well, right?
I think I'm just the only one stubborn enough to think they can make any progress on such a biased site. But now that we've concluded everything is revolutionary is your eyes, I'm perfectly happy with you calling the Wii whatever you'd like.
People can explain this to you over And over again. But it will just be repeating the facts. Yes the revolution isn't the invention. Its making the mass product successfully implementing new concepts and ideas and taking in massive new crowds to do it popularizing it in mainstream consciousness and awareness. For example cutting soneones head off is not a revolution. But the French Revolution did something monumental and in a massive scale.
Revolution:
1. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) the overthrow or repudiation of a regime or political system by the governed
2. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) (in Marxist theory) the violent and historically necessary transition from one system of production in a society to the next, as from feudalism to capitalism
3. a far-reaching and drastic change, esp in ideas, methods, etc.
4.
a. movement in or as if in a circle
b. one complete turn in such a circle a turntable rotating at 33 revolutions per minute
5. (Astronomy)
a. the orbital motion of one body, such as a planet or satellite, around another Compare rotation [5a]
b. one complete turn in such motion
6. a cycle of successive events or changes
7. (Earth Sciences / Geological Science) Geology Obsolete a profound change in conditions over a large part of the earth's surface, esp one characterized by mountain building an orogenic revolution

Except the ideas weren't new. So selling a lot = revolution.
Awesome. I'm not sure that's how the definition was intended, but whatever floats your boat.

Other companies have not re-released their old games digitally?
This site has reached a new low. : |

Yes they have, but not quite on this scale. Sony has PSOne Classics and some NeoGeo games.. That's 2 consoles. The VC has... well I can't tell you exactly off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure there are at least 6-7, not including VC Arcade.
They were new. Haven't seen any IR wii controllers around with sensors inside before floating around but perhaps you did. And yeah you're the only one who said no. Sorry.

So Nintendo invented the IR controller with motion sensors?
I would love to see technology from your point of view. I think it's basically a timeline of Nintendo released, with "Nintendo invents..." in front of everything.
Uh, yeah it did. Not only has it sold a huge amount of consoles in it's lifetime but it also has it's competitors copying it's act. Does the PS Move or Kinect ring any bells. Last time I checked they both selling that well. Though the Kinect did have a good launch in terms of sales.
Favorite Games: Sonic CD, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, and Call of Duty: Black Ops, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, and Mega Man 5. My Backlog
Sonic is AMAZING!! Nintendo is AMAZING!! I AM AMAZING!!

Playstation had motion controls last gen with the Eye Toy.
I'm guessing that was a revolution too?

So you don't have any examples? Right.
Besides the two I mentioned?
You completely disregard the fact other consoles this gen do the same thing, and there is a platform that has done it for decades?

I think this is the point where not only everyone disagrees with what you are saying but you started not making sense to even yourself.
