Deadly Creatures is great but short lived. I had more fun and got more value out of de Blob. It can get repetitive and the save system sucks, but the challenge is nice, level design is better than DC, and the multiplayer is loads of laughs if you can invite friends over. I don't want to downplay DC's fun, moody experience though. Choose one, choose de Blob, but your best bet is to probably get both.

I have both. One game involves arthropods killing other critters in a noir-ish tale; the other is a happy colourful platform game -- I don't think they could be more starkly different. They're both great THQ-published titles, though!
I have de Blob, and I think the game is increadibly well made and refreshing. But the gameplay is repetitive, so if that is a negative for you you shoudl get Deadly Creatures first.
But you can't go wrong with de Blob. (Am I the only one that thinks the soundtrack and it's use is pure genius?)
I like both games. De Blob is the only pure-play platforming game that I own so clearly I think that's worth getting too; it's really down to your mood and what you like. De Blob has multiplayer options and side missions so it's more lengthy than Deadly Creatures; if this is the only game you're going to get for awhile I suppose that should factor into things.
De Blob is incredibly fun. I haven't tried Deadly Creatures but it looks very innovative. But since I've only had time with the former, I'd go with that.

I own both games and had a lot more fun with Deadly creatures, that is my opinion though, read both reviews and see what you think would be most suited to you.
