Club Nintendo members or family accounts that reach Gold or Platinum status by the end of the Club Nintendo year will become eligible to receive a special reward. Watch for an email and details on club.nintendo.com shortly after June 30 for an announcement of these special rewards. You will have a limited time to accept that you would like to receive this special reward.
Your status will reset annually on June 30.
Why was my Gold or Platinum status reset? On June 30 of each Club Nintendo year, your status will be reset to allow you to begin earning Coins towards the next Club Nintendo year's Gold or Platinum status rewards.
If I redeem my Coins for a reward, will I lose my Elite Status? No. Redeeming Coins does not effect your status.
Now if you achieve Gold or Platinum status by June 30th this year, look out for a special thank you gift from Nintendo before the end of the calendar year.

I got to Platinum months ago. I've earned exactly 1600 coins to date, half of which I spent on hanafura cards. Now I'm waiting for more stuff to be added so there's something worth spending my remaining coins on. I hope the Platinum gift is awesome!
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
your coins are good for two full Nintendo Club years after they're deposited into your account (e.g. if you registered a game in March of this year, they wouldn't be gone until the June 2011 reset). you won't lose them just because your account rolls over, you would have to have not used them in the past two Nintendo Club years, and then they would be gone at the reset.

I also made it to Platinum. I am keeping a few surveys for later so I can start July with about 50 coins. Can't wait until I find out what the super-special-awesome gift is!!

[21:15] pixelman: That's not an f by the way, it's a fancy t.

[21:15] theblackdragon: lol OB
[21:15] pixelman: OB knows what he's asking about.
I'm saving all of my other surveys for after the update. I should have more coins than I do, honestly, especially if I didn't have a couple first-party games that I got used.
I am a 2 time platinum member. (not that Ive been a platinum member 2 times, I just have enough coins in there I could have achieved platinum status by now twice)
Wii : 5234 3442 0233 5325 3DS: 2664-2106-1671 I have A LOT of games, if you want to play something, just email me jangonov...
Gold now, debating whether or not it's worth the trouble to try to get platinum. Now, if Nintendo released a dsi vc, I could justify buying one of those and no problems. If that gets announced I'll grab that and a couple games for it and get platinum, and hopefully it'll be super awesome. Otherwise, I hope it's something I don't care about.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
It sucks because I just signed up for club nintendo a few weeks ago. I had no idea that the points reset on June 30th. I have 520 right now so hopefully I can get 80 points b4 June 30th. Some of the older games I registered weren't valid for any coins. Anyone know if they announce the reward any time soon or do they wait until after the 30th?
the prize should be announced some time after the Club Nintendo year end, and we should receive them sometime during the latter portion of the calendar year.

For those who are deciding to keep their survey, you better keep track on when the survey was release, because they only stay up there for a couple of weeks. I remember seeing on the nintendo website that they stay from 2-7weeks. I guess depending on the software.

@MDee14: the surveys all have an expiration date listed right next to the game titles in the 'to do' list... all the ones I've seen were for two years-ish. in fact, here's the expiration dates for surveys I have waiting at the moment: Personal Trainer: Cooking (Expires 11/24/2013) Kirby Super Star Ultra (Expires 09/22/2013) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Expires 12/08/2013)
also, I have noticed other expiration date weirdness... I accidentally clicked the 'i intend to buy' option for Pokemon Platinum... it was supposed to net me an extra 10 coins after I registered a copy of the game, but I had to do the initial 'register intent to purchase' thing sometime before the game was released (or 4 weeks after the game's release according to the FAQ). I figured it would delete itself from my 'to do' list after the game was released and I hadn't filled it out, but it's still there right now, and it apparently doesn't expire until 03/22/2014? wtf?

Made platinum the day I successfully accessed club Nintendo after it went up. I'm already over half-way there (with to-do surveys) for the next cycle. I wonder what the thank you gift might be.

Can anybody help me. I was on the club Nintendo site and I noticed this:
"Make sure your Club Nintendo account is linked to your Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop so your downloads are automatically registered. Games and Channels downloaded through the Wii and Nintendo DSi Shop are only eligible for Post Play surveys which will be automatically added to your To-Do list 4-6 weeks from the download date."
So my question is, how do you link your Wii shop to your Club Nintendo account?

Thanks.
On the Wii Shop Channel, there should be a button on the bottom labeled "Account Activity". Click there. Once there, there should be something about "Link Club Nintendo Account" or something similar. From there, I think you should get it.
