That's weird. I would think the majority of gamers, myself included, think the FPS genre is about the only one where the Wii version usually is the way to go due to the significant controls advantage, although we'll eventually need to see how Playstation Move works with the genre.

not at all, the point of the video is that - because of highly scripted gameplay - the player actions has no influence whatsoever

avoiding enemies on SMW requires Skill, not just stand with regenerative health... not to mention the ˜illusion of danger" were you coundn`t acctually die... like at the end of the video, the plane scape

Not true. Engaging the enemies in that level will cause them to fixate on you. Dodging enemies in that level is still not really that different than doing so in other games. Hence the whole cape analogy.

You gotta go with a scenario in which they're both well implemented. The dual analog control scheme feels a bit slippery in Goldeneye, which doesn't make it the best example.

Hmmm I never noticed that maybe its just me. I switch off between the Wiimote/Nunchuk and the CC when I play my son in mulitplayer since right now I just have one Nunchuk (wont get into that right now). I personally like the Wiiremote and Nunchuck over the Dual Analog but than again most of my gaming is done on a computer with a keyboard and mouse so maybe thats why it feels better to me. In truth though there is no one that is better some people like the feel of the analog others like the Wiimote, so in truth I dont understand the whole argument on analog vs Wiimote. Basically which ever one is the easiet for you is the best.

I find Gametrailers had the best, and by best I mean one I most agree with , review of Black Ops. It nailed what the problems were with the game and struck a nice balance of comparing it to the HD versions and other Wii shooters.

@vonseux
You should play the DS version. It definitely plays itself on easy as long as your on a mission accompanied by two other soldiers (which is to say, most of them.

I'm a bit tired of this whole analog vs. wiimote thing. It was a fun little debate at first but it just gets too heated and stupid as people start saying things like "people who prefer the "____" method is an idiot." Personally I have more fun with the wiimote method, but I wouldn't say it's "better", just different. It's that new feeling that makes me prefer it, not that it's any better or worse than a dual analog setup. In fact I could say that about motion controls in general. It's a fun new kind of control that allows for fun new experiences, but all experiences are not necessarily better or worse than old ones.

Just out of curiosity, does any one know what features in the multiplayer that are in the HD versions and not in the Wii versions. I was watching some gameplay and I noticed that the gameplay looks like an exact replica of the HD verions' gameplay, but I noticed there wasn't a kill cam. So, I'm just wondering if there are other gameplay enhancements that are missing.

Love black ops zombie mode!!! However, only one level, come on, two would have been nice. So far my best has been round 12, although on the leader board the top people have got to round 38! How on earth did they manage that. The way to suceed is to use the chest which appears in a room, the ray gun and thunder blast are awesome and so is the machine which turns your weapon into something better, a laser. Also, I read that there is a cheat to get another zombie level, is it true? In the main menu you shake the wii mote to break free from the chair and walk to the computer and type in a code. Can someone try it, thanks.

Sadly Dead Ops arcade is not in the Wii version. Zork still is, though!

I'm sure they dropped the bigger game modes like groundwar, and instead of 12 player games 6 on 6, it's only 5 on 5.

Send me the best you've got. Send me your strongest machines. The fight my brother fought, here, now, will end with me.

Actually, the Wii version is missing quite a few features of the HD versions. The Kill-Cam is not present of course, some of the Killstreaks have been taken out (like Valkyrie Rockets and Chopper Gunner), there is no custom emblem editor, you can't put put emblems on your guns, you can't customize red dot sights, the Flamethrower attachment is gone, the Camera Spike (Equipment) is gone, "Five" and Dead Ops Arcade are missing, a short shooting section on a boat was taken out of the campaign, and as SkullMan said, some of the bigger multiplayer game modes are gone. Aside from all this, the Game is still Black Ops all the way. The gameplay is still the same as the other versions, but without some of the features and without HD visuals (but it still looks quite good).

The best conclusion I've yet heard. It's all about preference, from what I understand.

so I gave Black Ops a rental. got to say, it's hands down my favorite CoD. I feel like its almost a shame the last few iterations exist, because this game succeeds with flying colors at incorporating all the greatness of the last few games into the perfect package. I love that they dropped the level cap back to 50, love the new banners and icons... without rambling, I think the multiplayer is perfect. However, where the game really shines in comparison to Modern Warfare and World of War is the campaign. It may just be my geeky conspiracy theory obsession. I couldn't get into Modern Warfare 2's campaign, I didn't even finish it. It just felt so stock, it felt like a generic hollywood blockbuster action movie. I love the Cold War vibe in Black Ops, tho. Bravo, Treyarch. The Zombie mode, I'm sad to say, has been somewhat ruined. That's only my opinion, and I'm sure tons of people will disagree, but I just didn't think it needed to change. Now, the tempo has been brought up, its got cheesy voice acting all over it, and has a kind of 90's FPS Duke Nukem kind of vibe. Couldn't really get into it. I would've loved a Special Ops mode, but alas, not in the cards.

Anywho, I made a point to not buy this game, because I feel duped paying top dollar annually for a rehash of what I JUST paid top dollar for. And I'm glad I just gave it a rental, because once I've completed the 6 hour campaign, and gotten to lvl 50 in multiplayer, I just don't see myself coming back to it. I have 3 other CoD games if I get the itch to play online, after all. Also, the people who play CoD are, for the most part awful, and I can't stand listening to them for more than 30 minutes at a time. Case in point: After playing my first great match since renting the game and winning 1st in free-for-all (19-4, whoop) I received the following message from a disgruntled nerd, "Nice mod. I hope you enjoy your suspension."
Seriously? I can't just win? People are so pathetic.

I believe you can do that or use a USB keyboard.

Ruined? It's exactly the same (save for a few new features) as it was in World at War, and that "Cheesy" voice acting has been there since Shi No Numa (well, technically it started in Verruckt, but the guys in that map weren't very funny and they never said much). The voice acting of the four characters you play as is entertaining, and I'd hate to see it taken away.

Yes, it also has online co-op, but I'm not sure what to say about lag issues. The mode runs great, even with four players, and there isn't really any frame rate problems. What you will likely run into, however, is something else. If you knife a Zombie (or shoot it) it usually takes a second or two for the Zombie to die. You see the action take place on your screen right when you press the button, but the Zombie won't get hit by your attack at the exact same moment you attack it. You won't kill it until a second or two passes, when your attack finally connects. (this issue doesn't occur when playing solo, of course) It's still a type of lag, I suppose, but it's not too hard to deal with.
