Topic: Best wii game

For everyone saying that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the best. I do know these are opinions, but keep in mind that SMG2 wouldn't be here if it weren't for the original that paved the way, so Super Mario Galaxy is easily the best Wii game! No doubt. It would be like saying Majora's Mask tops Ocarina of Time for the best N64 game, you would be out of our mind to say that, because the original is the game that innovated so many things and Majora's mask just built off of it.

But if you build off of something, that means it's even better, right? And we are talking about the best Wii game...

Super Mario Galaxy 2 just isn't new or original which really takes away from it's value and whole hell of a lot! Go look up why The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is the highest rated game up all time... and then we'll talk.

We are talking about videogames and Wii games in particular, but I see what you're getting at. You'll just never convince me that SMG2 is better than the original. And don't say I haven't played them, because I have 100% them both (With both Mario and Luigi in SMG and All the Super bonus Green stars in SMG2)

It only has 22 reviews representing its high status, which, isn't a whole lot. Look at a game like Super Mario Galaxy 2 (with around 70 reviews), and learn which game truly earned its highly ranked status.

Also, just because a game's successor recieves more praise, doesn't mean it's undeserved. Sure, you could say it's not as original, but then again, that's why it's called a sequel. Key word there.

For the record, I don't like SMG2...at all. I'm just saying because a game is a sequel shouldn't automatically disqualify it from being as good or better than the original, especially if, well, it is.

I see what you guys are saying. I actually see SMG2 more as a kind of expansion pack than a totally different game from SMG. Both are fantastic so don't get me wrong.

This is tough....but to pick one right now...Zelda : Skyward Sword. Now that could change at random, but that's what I'm thinking right now. . haha. Sorry, I'm bad at ranking games since a lot of them are just different then each other. Like, Mario and Zelda series.

I've posted a top 10 in the top 10 thread though. SMG 1/2 after this. Then Skyward Sword.

I have to say, great choices. That's probably my top three. The Prime Trilogy had to be the best deal when I got all of that for 50 bucks.

Punch-Out!! is my favourite Wii game. A series very close to my heart, and very easy to mess up. And the revival surpassed my already high expectations.

And also Melee > Brawl.

If I had to pick just one game it would be Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. I know there are technically better and more impressive games but I was really drawn into this one and would honestly class it as a masterpiece.

Obviously I have a ton of other favourites. Metroid Prime Trilogy, Other M, Smash Bros Brawl, Sin & Punishment, Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Skyward Sword, Goldeneye. Infact I've barely had time to make a dent in some of those so the Wii is far from over for me.

Super Mario Galaxy. Ninjabread man is a close second.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl for best Wii game.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is my most beloved Wii game, by far.

Honorable mentions: Galaxy 1 OR 2, Corruption, and Skyward Sword. (I've only played Rayman Origins on 360 or else it would lead these titles)

I just think all the Mario games are amazing !

Super Mario Galaxy 2. It expanded upon the original and fixed some of the very minor problems.

I think Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Metroid Prime 3, Skyward Sword, and Excitebots were the best IMO. The other ones you guys named are cool, too, but these took up most of my time.
