I don't know why so many people are complaining about tripping. I have never, ever seen a match whose outcome was affected by a trip. A friend of mine who plays in tournaments and even went to national says he's never seen it either. It's harmless and mildly amusing.
Of course, given the nature of this hack, it's good that it's out. This sounds really cool in general. If I were more serious about Brawl, or if I knew someone else really into it, I'd almost consider getting a second Wii for this -- well, not just for this. Lots of interesting home brew stuff out there, but this would be what would push me over into actually getting it.
But I won't be convinced until I see Yoshi beat Meta Knight in a game between two evenly ranked players. Any videos of this in action? Also, is this the same as Brawl+, and if not, what's the difference?

You can find Yoshi players beating tourney level MetaKnight players in the un-hacked brawl, good Yoshi mains are just few and far between. I'd look up a Yoshi main called "Bwett".
And to the comparison with Brawl+, I'd use this analogy; Brawl+ is what many wanted Brawl to be pre-release. Physics and speed close to that of Melee with the addition of a more balanced roster. It would be akin to completely replacing the engine of a car. BBrawl (Balanced Brawl) is in many ways taking Brawl for what it is and focusing on only balancing the roster, changing as little as possible. Think of it as a tune-up.
