Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast. Does not deserve the poor reviews at all. This is one of the biggest examples I point to of reviewers not spending enough time with the game.

Wii Number: 6999 4383 2199 5308
Now Playing (Wii): DDR Hottest Party 3, MS Winter Games, WS Resort
Now Playing (WiiWare): Excitebike WR, Family Card Games, "Aha! I Got It" Escape Game, Driift Mania

I like Donkey Kong Barrel Blast as well. I can't play for too long, it is very tiring.

I've reviewed a few games on NL that have gotten absolutely slated elsewhere or ignored:

Rampage Total Destruction
Godzilla Unleashed
Deadly Creatures (Eurogamer was the only place that seriously slagged this game)
Monster Lab
Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Other games I enjoy that have gotten stiffed:

Star Trek Conquest
Wii Music

No More Heroes. I understand the faults many people have with it, but also think that said cons are not that big a deal.

ummm....you lot be quiet and stop going off-topic. thanks.

That's a very odd question, and I'm not answering it until you answer mine: Why do you ask?

I'm guessing 'cause you typed "G-d," and not for something nefarious.

Oh, that? That was just a habit I got from my 7th grade History teacher.
And no, I am not Jewish. I'm agnostic, actually.

No offense dude but that's a pretty obnoxious habit to get into. Not sure what you think you're proving by doing that.

Prove? I'm not trying to prove anything, other perhaps the old "Monkey See, Monkey Do" principle. It's just a compulsive habit that can't break. Nothing more.

you lot please stop going off topic.

Darn it! I wanted to get into an evolutionary debate!
Just kidding, I'll stop.

I'd say yeah. It gets better as you go on, but if you already don't like the flight levels this just might not be your game.
NiGHTS is one of my favorite Wii gamesl, actually. But it's not for everyone.

Hmm, seems the critics weren't as harsh as I remember. But Game Informer, the magazine I used to trust for reviews (I was a fool) gave it a 6/10.

For the Wii, defindently Sonic Unleashed. Getting mixed reviews from crtiics and most of the time, even worse scores from fans, the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed is an excellent game unapperatice by fans and critics. For my first venture into 3D Sonic, this was an great start.

If you are an Sonic fan, buy the game!

Just a general question - Wii Music got a couple of very positive reviews, but overall was more or less smeared by reviewers....

Do you think it is a case of wii success/Nintendo success resentment (i.e. Nintendo making the 'wrong' kind of games, ormaking games made supposedly for the 'wrong' people??

Or do you think it is just one of those love it or hate it games, and the scores reflect that?

I think it is an odd duck game, I personally like it quite a lot, especially the classic and folk music, but I really do think a lot of reviewers had a major axe to grind with wii music.

I really do think there is a paradox to game media nowadays, they claim to grow tired and jaded of sequelitis, yet at the same time new games can be crapped on pretty unfairly....I think gamers - in general - were more openminded and less clique back in the day, a downside to the internet, perhaps, in my opinion.....

One last thought it hassold like around 3 million about the same as Animal Crossing, the Wii holiday games, and Iwata has stated both unperformed, they certainly have set the sights high on how they feel their software should sell....

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

Some people (who shall remain IGN--er I mean nameless) just couldn't get over the admittedly bad showing of the game at E3. They didn't like the idea of the game, so when they finally got it when it was time to review the game, they just didn't give it a fair chance. Like Animal Crossing, Wii Music isn't a game you can totally figure out in 3 hours. I've had the game for a year (playing it almost every day) and I'm still discovering new tecniques and stuff. It's an incredibly deep game, but if you don't search for the depth you probably won't find it very easily.

Critics hated the idea of Nintendo "going casual", and they assumed that this was going to be just that. And as a result, they never gave the game the chance it deserved. The thing that makes me so mad is that they complain about a lack of depth, and yet, can someone explain to me the depth found in Guitar Hero? Hit the colored notes as they roll across the screen. My what a deep music experience. Wii Music is the only music game that's actually a MUSIC game. It actually challenges you in genuinely musical ways, and allows you to actually experience what composing music feels like.

Clearly this is a game I get a bit heated about. It's one of my all time favorite games
