Topic: Are Sony and Microsoft's Sales Going to Blow Nintendo Away This Xmas?

I for one plan to buy tons of Move and Kinect games, even though I don't have a 360 or PS3! Kinectimals FTW!!

Or not...

I'm thinking, for Black Ops alone, people are willing to buy a PS3 or 360 over that one game, which is surely better than the Wii version. I'm guessing the online play isn't gonna be as good. Same for the graphics.

I get the feeling Nintendo is going to be slaughtered this Xmas by Sony and Microsoft. So badly, that it may push them to finish development of a new console sooner than expected.

Slaughtered? No, they're Nintendo. As other people said, they're probably gonna focus more on the 3DS than holiday sales.

Wait there's new consoles are on the market? I thought kinect and move were add ons? Why is everyone treating them as such? Unless you already own a ps3 or 360 no one is running out to buy these peripherals.

Nintendo has the best value and best bundles right now. All consoles come with Wii Remote plus and 2 great games. The Red Wii will be hard to find this year. Plus for people looking for motion control, it's an all in one package at 199.99 USD MSRP.

The software lineup for the HD motion control games are is horrible. I see move and kinect being more of a threat next year if the software lineup improves or prices go down. And even then Nintendo is so far ahead of the times that I think I know what there next move will be holiday 2011 and it's not gonna be pretty for the competition.

Last year people doubted Nintendo and the Wii broke the record for most consoles sold in a single month, that month was last December. Keep in mind, this record was broken with the original bundle!

Thank you. A lot of people don't understand me either. I once said Wii Fit would outsell Brawl and I got flamed for like a year.

Just to be clear the record broken was for most consoles sold in a single month.

I'll agree that with Black Ops on the market, along with Kinect and Move, Sony and Microsoft have a shot to outsell Nintendo. However, don't underestimate the power of parents or sold out products. I've found (just from observing friends/coworkers who are parents, no legit source to cite) that if a kid wants a PS3 and Black Ops, but his parents don't want to buy it for him (too violent or maybe even sold out), they'll go for an available alternative, which would be the Wii in this case. The Wii is a lot more appealing to parents in general, too. Also, Nintendo has brought Epic Yarn, Goldeneye, and DKCR to market for the holidays, so I wouldn't count them out.

I have one thing to say: Kirby's Epic Yarn won't be out for Christmas in Europe and Australia.
It gets even worse; Kirby's Epic Yarn comes out at the end of March here. What is this, the 20th century?
Why would Nintendo aim at the Easter(?) market for those regions?
Do they think the market would be flooded with too many high-profile titles if it wasn't around at Christmas?
I wouldn't complain if they'd release it in January or even February.

Nintendo should pay for that. I hope Microsoft and Sony win this year.

Still, Europe is getting Donkey Kong Country Returns next month.

That actually makes the Kirby's release date even more baffling.

I'm pretty sure that nintendo will outsell it's competitors. Too many good wii games before chrismas.

May I refer you to my "market would be flooded with too many high-profile titles" argument?

I noticed that, but for some reason I kept thinking about PS3 and 360 titles.

Nintendo will do well this Christmas, I'm sure of that. It could possibly be turned down a notch compared to a year or two ago, but it wouldn't be slaughter. They have Wii Party , Kirby's Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Disney Epic Mickey to keep the Wii up, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii is still doing good.

You know why I won't buy Wii Party? Mainly because it comes bundled with a normal Wii-Remote.
Releasing a normal Wii-Remote bundle one month before the Wii-Remote Plus is just a joke to me.

@Faildude, yes it is, but it has no sin to release it with a Wii-remote plus, because the game do not use it.

Man's worst enemy is laziness.

That's not the point. The point is that you are blowing out $ 40 for a game that comes with an obsolete Wii-Remote.
I would actually happier if didn't come with anything instead of an old Wii-Remote, just in this special case.

Kinect and Move both have great tech, but crap games. There's great potential, but the Wii's been out for five years and it's nowhere near reached its potential (HD Wii plz!).
