Topic: Anyone Liking FlingSmash?

I picked up FlingSmash first day despite all the negative to mediocre reviews. I figured that Nintendo doesn't make new IPs very often, and I wanted this little guy to survive (at least till the next Smash Bros:)).

I put close to 7 hours into it, and I just beat it today. In the reviews I read, everyone was saying how they beat it in 3, but they must not have been trying to get an S rank on all the levels (Cheap Ass Gamer only got B and A ranks) because THAT is a challenge (Currently, I have an S rank on all levels in worlds 1-6 and 1 S in 7 and 8)! If you've read the reviews, then you know the controls don't "respond" well. I felt the same way until I really got into the game. I feel the control is actually pretty responsive, though far from perfect. I think people don't like the controls because there is a definite learning curve, and I don't think these reviewers took the time to really give the game a fair shot nor did they take the time to master the controls.

So, all in all, I really like the game, and I plan on getting an S rank on all the levels eventually. I gotta fill the time until Donkey Kong Country Returns comes out (2010 Game of the Year!). I just wanted to know if anyone else picked it up, and, if you did, how are you liking (or hating) it? And do you think the controls are crap or are they just misunderstood?

Saddler, YOU"RE small time!

Not out here in the UK but I'll be getting it day one. Good to hear some more good impressions to balance with the negative ones.

This reminds me of Nights Journey into Dreams. The controls become natural after some time.
