I've been reading up on it... and i've got to say, i've yet to be impressed. the art style is interesting, but nothing special... doesn't look as dark as that first concept art hinted at... the paint mechanic is interesting, but other than that, it seems like decent, but still run-of-the-mill 3D action/platformer fare... am i missing something, or is this game just not as special as everyone seems to think??? i don't mean to be dissing it if you're excited, i just truly am curious.

It's probably because it looks so different than Mickey's other adventures.

I'm curious, too. And the graphics do look familiar (like from Magical Mirror on GC), and it looks so intriguing. I wonder how it will fare?

The concept art work that first came around had me hyped, although at that point it was not known if this was actually going to happen or if it was a rumour. After seeing In-game screen shots I am not so impressed, however I will reserve judgement until the game is finished.

People think it will be as mindblowing as KH, at least that's what I think. I've never played Kingdom Hearts, I'm going to try it once I get a new PS2 controller though.

KH was quite excellent. i have a hugely difficult time trying to imagine this reaching that state, if only for the lack of FF... which honestly, it's more than just for that reason.

The Concept Art came out and got me somewhat excited. Then I saw pictures of the game itself, learned that it looked nothing like the Concept Art, and all my hype went down.

You know when you're Luigi-Obsessed when:
You purposely die 8 times in a row in New Super Mario Bros. Wii so you can get into Super Guide mode only to switch back to normally playing a few seconds later just so you could play as Luigi in Single Player mode in 1 level.

You have every reason to be excited. As the person above me said WARREN SPECTOR is at the helm, and Disney are throwing money behind this game as it's rebirth of Mickey Mouse - you can guarantee they won't let it through quality control.

The current screen shots are poor, but it's quite easy to see that they are of a very early build.

Yeah, there is a year of development left, it will improve by the time it releases. It has the potential to be the Wii graphics king, and a great game, and I'm sure it will be.

alrightey, well, i think you guys have convinced me to give it time yet and hold out hope for the magnificent release it seems to be heralded as. i'll keep a skeptical eye out, though.

I am not interested in the game at all and I know someone will probably flame all over that. Even as a kid I hated Disney and Mickey Mouse. At almost 30 I see no reason to change that.

I was never a big Mickey Mouse fan, but it's a game and I'm always open to the possibility that a game could be good even if the license doesn't interest me.

I think people are hyping because it looks like it could be a return to Mickey's platforming quality not seen since Castle of Illusion way back when. I'll feel a bit daft buying a Mickey game at the age of 20 (or, I will by the time it comes out), but if it's good it'll probably find it's way onto my shelf. I'll just have to hide it when friends come round. Or steal the neighbour's children, claim them to be my own, and say it's their game.

Because there's nothing wrong with child-catching to hide your own embarrassment.

Me neither. I think that the reason is that they are really giving an effort to a wii game..because we all know that 3d parties have been extremely lukewarm and even mediocre towards the wii (with some few exceptions). Besides the idea of having a Kingdom hearts like game in a console (ie. an anti-disney disney game).

The concept art did give me a lot of hype, but I'm realistic. I knew that the game would look no where NEAR what the concept art looked like, especially on the Wii.

That said, it still looks interesting, but I want to see a few more areas and more importantly I want to know how good the controls are.
If it plays similar to Okami I'll buy it.
