Let Dimps do a Wii version. They did the Advance and Rush games plus they did the day stages for Wii Unleashed, which were way more fun imo.
Seconded, that'd be awesome.
Third on that.

4th on that DIMPS knows how to make a good sonic game if sega didn't include the werehog so much maybe in just 1 satge then the game would be twice as good but it still needed more stages anyway and plus we got jipped on one of the worlds which really shorten the game but still it was good not great but good

Well if it ISN'T for Wii, it'll be the final push I need to get a 360 or PS3. But I've actually enjoyed Secret Rings and Unleashed for Wii--I wish that Sega would just take some time, like a few years, and really put some effort into perfecting the 3-D formula. Sonic in 3-D sounds fantastic on paper, they just need to find a way to make it 100% work.

"Finally" is all I have to say. Im hoping Sega lets Dimps do this game because, because they do the best sonic games these days. If sonic team is doing this, then Im not going to get too excited... It would also suck if sega ignores the wii. Lets hope they don't screw this up.

Here's my feeling--Sega will make a Wii version of the game (like they did for Sonic Unleashed) which will run on a similar engine but will probably have scaled down graphics and some different levels. They'll probably tack on some waggle because they're stupid, but it'll still be a 2-D Sonic, which is awesome.
In the interview the representative confirms that it is a Sonic game, and the logo is actually the original logo from the first Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Capcom and Konami royally screwed Wii with potentially great retro-like games for the Wii (Except for Mega Man 9.), we can only hope Sega does not do the same thing.
Because if they do, even when I get a PS3, not only will they not touch my money for any HD games from them, Nintendo will be hurt as well, by that, more Wii haters complaining about how Nintendo Wii has no good games, which is a lie.
Of course if this is a Needlemouse instead of a Sonic game, I wouldn't care much.
Edit: It is a Sonic game, Sega must bring this game to the Wii if they want more profit, plus avoid screwing over there biggest fanbase.

I completely back all the comments shouting out for Dimps to be the developers. Their heritage goes as far back as the Neo Geo Pocket Colour 'Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure', as well as the aforementioned Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush. GameSpot quoted Sega associate brand manager Ken Balough, as saying the game features HD and its concept would repond to "old-school Sonic fans". I do enjoy 2.5D, but brand new, hand drawn 2D sprite and backgrounds would be awesome in my eyes. I am a fan of Sega's original Mega Drive Sonic sprite design.
I am passionate about retro gaming, from antiquated consoles to the continuation of classics. Obviously I love PSone, and PS2 retro games. I blast my ears to breakneck melodic punk, gruff vocals and nimble alternative guitar hooks.
