Topic: ZombiU Sequel

I already know that Ubisoft has stated that they won't be making a sequel due to poor sales. But if/and when the Wii U sales increase along with that of ZombiU do you think that they might change their minds? Do you want to see a ZombiU sequel? If so what are your storyline ideas? Thoughts on level designs and gameplay thoughts?

My thoughts on a ZombiU sequel if possible.
-Storyline
Follows your character after being
rescued by the Ravens, with Sandra. As like what you would do with the Pancea with the rest of London (or the rest of the world).
You, at some point come back to confront the Prepper.

-Level Design
More day areas.
Areas could be larger.
Introduce more characters.

-Gameplay
Gamepad used for straight play off-screen.
Different ways to open doors.
Maybe slide to open manholes.
Different ways to teleport between areas.

Your thoughts? Leave below in the comments!

I hate ZombiU so much. I've been trying to force myself to play it since the only two "real" games I have are ZombiU and NintendoLand (the only two games that came with my Wii U), but I just get annoyed every time I do.

The BIGGEST thing that needs to change is more variety in weapons. Seriously, hitting a bunch of zombies with a cricket bat over and over gets extremely repetitive and boring after a while. Yeah, I know you can OCCASIONALLY use a gun, but ammo is scarce and you only find enough to kill maybe two zombies.

If there was more variety in/opporunities to use weapons that would INSTANTLY make the game like 10 times better. More save points would be nice, but I guess that's where the challenge of the game comes in. The multiplayer also sucks and is unfair for the TV player. A co-op mode would better suit this game.

I also would prefer to have a single character rather than a different one every time. The mechanic where you can kill the past character after you die is pretty cool, but there's no one to identify with really. There's no connection between the character and the player. It would really add to the story, whatever it may be.

As far as the story goes..I don't really care. I don't even know the story of ZombiU since I play it about once or twice a month..I forget. Maybe it could be based off of another country..maybe Mexico....Egypt...South Korea...who cares, just somewhere else.

Weapons being scare during a Zombie apocalypse is surely realistic though. Specially in Britain where our gun culture isnt the same as some other parts of the world. Finding ammo and weapons is going to be scarce.

There are plenty of weapons to find though, you have the Pistol, L9A1, HKP226, Cricket Bat, Mines, C4, Hammer. These are the only ones i can remember but i'm sure there's others things that can be used or can be found playing the game. the HKP226 also comes with a silencer as far as i can remember so you don't attract attention from other walkers when shooting. Handy!

Hypothetical question If a real Zombie apocalypse happened, would you expect guns and ammo to be lying everywhere for your convenience?

TBH the game isn't for you as your suggestions would be missing the point. ZombiU is more akin to Dark/Demon souls than left 4 dead.

Lets just face it Zombi U has a great concept with the Wii U gamepad but standing up to most AAA games these days it lacks quality and has no real storyline hence why it has failed to impress and won't be getting a sequel.

Nintendo have said no sequel so this topic is dead in the water.

I did't know a hypothetical speculation wasn't allowed. So quit trying to back seat mod.

I know, it's supposed to be survival horror. I wouldn't even compare this game to Left 4 Dead because that's so much different. This game is closer to Killing Floor in my opinion however, and I think Killing Floor is a bit more fun because there's more variety in weapons, even though you start off with one usually, you gradually get more over time. You still have to conserve your ammo like in ZombiU, but and sometimes you're stuck without ammo for a bit, but it's nowhere as annoying as using your cricket bat in ZombiU for an entire stage in ZombiU. Just my opinion though. Maybe I'll give ZombiU another shot and try to beat the entire game. Hopefully it'll become more interesting. The last time I played I was in Brick Lane Flats I believe

I've only played the demo, but found it quite boring. The whole spooky atmosphere and good graphics quickly loses it's appeal, especially when it's been done countless times. I want to have fun, not be bored when the game tries to scare me. I'm not easily scared, though. There's not a single horror movie out there that scares me. Honestly, one of the scariest games I've played was Friday the 13th for the NES. You never know when Jason is going to show up.

And the weapon shortage isn't just about guns. They could've been more creative. Like, if you were in a zombie apocalypse and you didn't see any guns or bats laying around, would you just use nothing or would you take a look around and see what would make the best weapon? That's something that would've made the game a lot better.

ZombiU isn't like most "survival horror" games. Never before did I feel death looming over me in a game. Never before did I have to consider each shot I fired, thinking should I save this bullet for later or use it now. Where ZombiU succeeds is where other shooters and horror gMes fail. If someone goes into ZombiU expecting a shooter like Left 4 Dead or Killing Floor then they will be disappointed. If someone is expecting something like Resident Evil or Dead Space they will be disappointed. Gamers come to expect certain genres to include certain aspects, ZombiU does not follow expectations but delivers what I consider a true survival horror experience

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I thought it was OK, but only after forcing myself to play it. I was mainly disappointed by the glitches and lack of control compared to other games.
I think it could be done better than it was. It's possible that with the game up on the eShop for at least the next 10 years, that it could sell more copies at a discount, then maybe they'll try to make a sequel or maybe a better game altogether.
ZombiU for $30 would probably sell, but I don't think Ubisoft's claim that it sold poorly is really Wii U, or its owners' fault.

EDIT: When things go digital, you don't have to worry about discs or cartridges being lost or scarce in time like Earthbound.

There is no real problem of ammo. It is just that when the character dies, you lose it and sometimes it is difficult to retrieve. That makes it even more exciting and scary. But really you have plenty of weapons. The shotgun, the double shotgun, then you got the machine gun, then that military one you get after the stage with Boris, the crossbow, the magnum, the whole lot. There is no shortage of weapons. In fact you constantly have to waive or bring back the grenades and molotov bottles which are deadly weapons as well.

This is a difficult game. Extremely. But it is not difficult like a platformer where you can't make a jump at the right second. Any death is your mistake, it's you simply not strategizing enough or running too directly without taking your time. Death is annoying yes, but not irreversible in this game. There are surprises everywhere, constant thrills. For me, this is one of a kind.

Ubisoft could change their mind later, hopefully. The game will have legs.

I have never had any problem regarding ammo. I always used the crossbow to kill zombies with headshots from a distance, to retrieve the bolts later. Whenever the zombies came a bit too close for comfort, I used my shotgun or my machine guns to take care of them. Only died 4 times on my first playtrough (all due to trail-and-error traps) and I have always been able to retrieve my stuff. What disappointed me was how short the game was, that it wasn't as hard as many people claimed it to be and how the story was set up. It just didn't make any sense really. I did really like the gameplay though. So I would like to see a sequel. I didn't encounter any bugs or glitches either btw.

I think there problably will be a sequel to ZombiU, the Montpellier studio have already said that they are looking at ideas.. However due to the poor performance of both Wii U and ZombiU itself with really poor sales i would guess that the sequel will be released on other platforms.
