I think it's very simple to see why The Last Of Us was praised so much by both gamers and critics around the world. It is what I like to call, the measuring stick. The Last Of Us took a lot of what was already done during the 7th generation of gaming and even things dating back to earlier generations and perfected them. I was very against the Xbox One/PS4, I didn't want to upgrade at all because I felt that the 7th generation still had more to offer but honestly, it didn't and Last of Us made it very apparent to me. It pushed the limits of story telling in games, there was no out doing it, not while using the out dated technology.
So was it the best game of all time? I don't know. Was it better than Zombie U? I don't know, I haven't played Zombie U yet. But are the reviews and praise justified? I believe so.
When it comes to storytelling in games, The Longest Journey has set my bar pretty high for that area. Hopefully tLoU won't disappoint once I get around to playing it.
ZombiU is a pretty meh game to be honest. Its okay but doesn't even reach its potential.
I think that is the point. ZombiU had a lot of untapped potential, Dead Space has run its course. With more time and polish ZombiU(2?) has the potential to be way better. ZombiU is still far from a bad game.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yeah but we don't judge games based on potential especially when we have games that have done the concept better. I liked what Ubisoft did but the game should have been a more open world seemless with the barriers made by your own progress in the world. It would have made the 1 kill even more intense than it already was.
Like I said before State of Decay is probably the best game in said genre, and Dying Light looks cool.
WAT!

The original RE owns them all.
Yeah, like i've got any say in the matter since i haven't played ZombiU or TLOU. However, I've played the PS3 demo for dead space but i wasn't too crazy over it. In terms of 3rd person survival/action/whateverZ i prefer Resident Evil 4's tank-like vulnerable control scheme and the Wii versions pointer controls. if the latter were at least applied to Dead Space i would of had much more of a drive to actually sit down and play it.
I liked Dead Space. It was pretty good, and back before horror was all the rage.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery

That's definitely true. As much as I liked Dead Space, especially stepping on all those corpses, the dual stick was torture. It's also horrible in TLOU, probably the worst I've ever seen. ZombiU uses the game pad which is so cool so it overcomes the dual stick deficiency. Overall, ZombiU is definitely the best game of all three, but it's a toss up with the impeccable RE4.
