I recently rebought Zombi for my PS4 so I decided to boot up my younger brothers WiiU and replay zombiU which i played last year, just to compare. Honestly the tension and experience was very similar on both platforms. the lack of gamepad does not really effect the gameplay that much. the scanner works similarly, the inventory works similarly and the implementation is not really clunky at all!
It's the same thing nothing has changed. Except the weapons somewhat. God such a lazy port they had the power of current gen systems and they didn't use it.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
I'm currently playing Resident Evil 4 Remake & Manhunt
what i meant is that allt he while i thought that it will be a inferior product without the gamepad. surprisingly the gamepad features were perfectly recreated on screen which made it equal. the loss of the gamepad did not really hurt the port that was my point and my surprise
@WaveBoy: innovative gamepad controls? try playing it, they really captured the functions of the gamepad without the game pad. with regard to using PS Move, well the gamepad is basically a simple dual stick controller with a screen and ZombiU can only use wiimotes and nunchucks on multiplayer.
I played the game and the best things were the gamepad features. Looking down to sort your inventory while zombies are attacking brought a very realistic feeling in the game.
@Jazzer94:
Ya. A minimal port job is just the same coming from Xbox 360 and PS3 to Wii U, as it is Wii U to PS4 and Xbox One. They'd probably have to make Zombi U run at sub-HD(under 720p) on Xbox 360 and PS3. Zombi U was still built for Wii U, which is ultimately a better PowerPC machine than Xbox 360 and PS3, which is why it's probably easier to port forward, than it backwards. That's why they actually ported The Crew to Xbox 360 among other titles, because they already knew that machine. That's why it's pretty likely that they couldn't get it running on last generation, because otherwise why would they pass up sales on PS3 and Xbox 360?
All the logic about multiplatform games being relevant on every platform that it can matter on, doesn't make any sense if we are going to refuse that Wii U has ever done anything better than Xbox 360 and PS3, technologically, which it has done since it came out. Games like Fast Racing Neo, Super Smash Bros, etc. games, can't be on Xbox 360 or PS3, period. EDIT: Even games like Tekken, Injustice, etc. were definitive on Wii U, compared to 7th generation, because Wii U is a better machine(ran in 5.1 PCM and fully upscaled 1080p), period, and those were minimal port jobs, too. Need I remind anyone of Deus Ex. Xbox 360 and PS3 still could hardly handle the type of improvements they gave the Wii U version, and it mattered.
Maybe people should wonder why PS4 never got a 1080p version of PS Battle Royale. psych.
EDIT 2: Also, even this was more minimal of a port job than 7th generation titles for Wii U. They added some improvements and GamePad support for Wii U. They didn't even include Remote play or Smartglass for PS4 and Xbox One, while Wii U still has the GamePad and the graphics are mostly the same. Under minimal, if you want to be exact. Oh well.
@WaveBoy:
Yup. All this proves is that all the 7th generation ports Wii U got that everyone hated, were about on the same level as ZombiU going to Xbox One and PS4. They must be "underpowered" If Xbox One and PS4 were so powerful, this game would run in 3D with Kinect, or whatever else they can throw at it, but they actually had to get to get rid of the second screen, instead. Oh well.
Have fun with the zombies.

i find it hilarious that nintendo fanboys hope that the port is bad, we enjoyed a great game so cant you be happy to let people who dont own a wiiU enjoy the game? its so stupid.
@arnoldlayne83: no it wasnt. Just play it and realize that the gamepad wasn't really essential to the game. The same thing can be accomplished on the TV
@Tubalcain: sorry, but it can still be inserted in the game as an option, since other games support ps4/Vita interaction..... I believe it was technically easy to achieve. Then, leave to the user the choice of using it or using just the tv.....

That is your opinion. I think Zombi and ZombiU are only fair average games and the only thing I found new and fresh was the inclusion of the gamepad. Yes, you can put everything on the big screen but the switchover between bag (gamepad) and the large screen was a nice realistic detail and I really appreciate it.
Without the gamepad it stays the same game but I think it feels different.
@gaming_24_7: Im not sayin that the game was the second coming of christ its budget title after all. all im saying is that in my experience playing it, the game gave me the impression that the gamepad was not really that essential. it is very commendable that they managed to effectively transferre the functions of the gamepad in such a way that it did not feel forced or clunky.
@somepeople: why does it have to be a contest of who has the longer schlong or farther pee (or in this case, better game)? is it that offensive that a exclusive was ported to other systems? to those saying that its a crappy port, that its basically a lazy port etc etc. its a budget title, its not an ambitious remake the price should have lessened your oh so high standards.
I honestly wouldn't worry about the differences, though, honestly. If anyone is buying it on Xbox One or PS4, that's a pretty sure sign that they don't have a Wii U, or they care a great deal about achievements/trophies. I played through Rayman and Child of Light multiple times, because I bought them on Wii U, then they were on Games with Gold on Xbox One.
Zombi will probably be on sale pretty fast, or possibly be one of the Games with Gold/PS+ games, so I wouldn't worry about what platform anyone is playing it on, anyway. Everyone has a chance to play a decent game.
I bought it digitally for Wii U, day one for $60, and I'll for sure be playing it at least 1 more time, so from my perspective, it's that much better for people who haven't played it, since it's way cheaper than it was.

Part of it's probably that it was designed exclusively for the Wii U. They didn't have any higher res textures of better models they'd kept on the side. So the only other option is higher resolution or whatever graphical effects.
