The page indicates that the product should ship on 6/1/2014 (A week or so BEFORE E3). Has anyone else seen this? Perhaps it's purely speculative on behalf of Walmart, but that's a very specific date to list. I guess it's been up for a while now, commenters on wallyworld.com seemed to believe that it was a placeholder for either Link Between Worlds or Wind Waker HD. Obviously, it was neither. I did see another forum post commenting on this but at the time it was listed as a Q4 2013 release, which obviously was unrealistic - of course this might also be unreleastic.
Perhaps Nintendo is going to get their act in gear though and announce Zelda and release shortly thereafter - instead of announcing games and then taking 2 years to bring it to market. Products need to be released while the buzz is high, Nintendo can take a lesson from Apple on this front.
Its more then likely a placeholder that Walmart put there so they could take preorders of games. Its not unheard of companies doing that. I wouldn't believe a date unless Nintendo themselves said it.

It says the first of the month. It may seem specific, but placeholder dates are often for the first of a month.
It's obviously not Zelda U as Anouma said they'll discuss it at E3 (which I think regardless if Nintendo puts up a live conference or a direct, it'll be the finale of the show) but if Hyrule Warriors is supposedly far enough in development I can see it coming out around that time.
It might be referring to Hyrule Warriors. Seems like a fair date for the release of that game. Placeholder dates are usually the first/last day of a month.
This kind of thing does happen all the time though. If it's actually referring to the new Zelda, walmart is just trying to get your business.
Anyone other than me find it weird that this is listed as $99.96. Makes me wonder if this is a bundle of some sort, maybe something like Link's crossbow training?

I'll take the word of others here with more pre-order experience and assume this is indicative of nothing. The last video game I actually pre-ordered was Ocarina of Time for the N64 back in 1998. I remember it didn't arrive until the day before Thanksgiving, a couple days after it was actually released. Best Thanksgiving ever!
Anyways, I doubt this listing has anything to do with Hyrule Warriors as it appears to have been on walmart.com long before Hyrule Warriors was even known to exist. Either way, this game will eventually break my pre-order streak. But, not right now.

While I can't list specific examples, I've seen retailers give incorrect prices to products that weren't even announced yet

As it states its Zelda 2 I'm guessing its not the next Zelda for the Wii U. Or rather it is the next Zelda and Walmart is speculative about a date and knows people will preorder it and since Walmart seems to be the only place its being offered, they know they can price it that high. Pricing is purely based on individual stores. I'd personally say that if a store that is specific to games (I.e. GameStop) does not have a listing for it yet then I'd say its purely speculative and Walmart is just trying to cash in on people knowing Zelda will bring in money.
The reason for the high price is so they can set up the pre-order before the MSRP is announced and not have to worry about offering a price-match since the price on the site definitely won't be lower than official one.

Exactly also knowing Zelda is a high demand game, 100 bucks is easily worth it if knowing the demand will bring in the preorders.

I remember when the Wii U games were first announced and places like Gamestop and Walmart had them listed for $99.99 and people were getting all upset cause they thought that was the actual price of the Wii U games.
