For the former, I'd suggest go playing Infinity Blade instead.

F.Y.I., I have a kindle fire H-D and I don't think it has infinity blade... Thanks for your opinions guys. Maybe a better idea would be to use the touchscreen for only the map and inventory management. Maybe bow, slingshot, etc. aiming too. As for the main gameplay ,maybe nintendo should choose the way they did it for the N64 games.

For the former, I'd suggest go playing Infinity Blade instead.

Dear Nintendo,
Please no motion controls.

Sincerely, Me

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Implementation of the GamePad screen does NOT have to mean using the touch screen in gameplay. ZombiU shows that. If they did go the Infinity Blade route, I wouldn't buy it.

Dear Nintendo

Please ignore the last user who said not to have motion controls, there's plenty of possible uses for them that don't ruin the gameplay. Just try not to make every minor thing use them.

Yours Sincerely

Why are you a single person now who would read the posts of some nobodies on the internet?

You guys are funny.

Eiji Aonuma said he wanted to stick with motion controls. I think they're going to make it where you have the gamepad set up in front of you and you can point to the gamepad to select your inventory.

Actually, more likely, is that the gamepad will be used by a second player, since Eiji Aonuma said this:

Our mission in developing this new Zelda game for Wii U is quite plainly to rethink the conventions of Zelda. I’m referring to things like the expectation that the player is supposed to complete dungeons in a certain order, or that you’re supposed to play by yourself. The things that we’ve come to take for granted recently.

I'm thinking maybe something similar to the tingle tuner?

i dont mind it using motion controls again at all. im sure i read somewhere that they probably wouldnt use them again. at least for swordplay anyway, i cant see them ditching the gyroscope or pointer aiming anytime soon.

put it on.

With this being designed from the ground up as a Wii U exclusive, I'm sure there's going to be a lot of focus on the gamepad. Perhaps wiimote + nunchuck will be for extra players (they've hinted at multiplayer), or it might also be an alternate means of control.

I think many items will be controlled by aiming the gamepad, like the archery in the Nintedoland Zelda. This would be especially useful for the bow and the hookshot, and perhaps for other things like the boomerang and wands. I like the archery in Nintendoland personally.

How they will do swordplay is an interesting question. The best idea I've come up with is the left analog stick for shield, and right analog for sword, with motion control for dodging, jumping, and so on. That should allow for a lot of flexibility and interesting swordfights. Touch controls could be used to switch between "sword and shield" mode, "archery" mode, and "exploration" mode, and to select items.

Motion controls and touch could also be used in different ways in specific missions or minigames, perhaps tilting the gamepad right and left while sliding down a zipline or things like that.

I'm just so very glad they are focusing on more non-linear gaming for it. While it was fine since Skyward Sword was just 1 game, Zelda should never be that consistently linear basically ever again. It was dangerously close to ME2 levels of linear at times and it's good that for their HD game they are not taking the route of being corridor THE GAME.

I would like motion controls, though not for the game pad. Maybe the Wii remote plus would do well. While playing with Wii remote and nun Chuck (sorry about that, I'm posting with a mobile device and it keeps on checking my spelling) while the game pad is used to operate the map and inventory.

Motion controls should supplement the gameplay, not be the gameplay. I really liked ZombiU's use of the gyroscope and touch controls.

But honestly, I think most of the innovation is going to come in the form of some sort of multiplayer.

I want them to not use wiimote again and use the gamepad in creative ways, but no touchscreen combat if they decide not to use motion controls again. I also want skyward's multiple choice conversations to be explored further. I want them not to mess things up with the idea that you have don't have to play Zelda alone. I want them to do a realistic style like with TP. I want a large connected open world like OoT and its great variety and town's nightlife. Make Zelda part of the story more in a way that doesn't involve her just getting kidnapped and then taunting you multiple times with her being just ahead of you then gone. (Skyward sword) I want more Zelda link romance too, I really liked that part of Skyward sword.

Currently playing: Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Current backlog: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (part way through) and the Unfinished Swan (unplayed).

I think they use Gamepad and Wii remote+nunchuck gameplay. I really hope it is like the very first Zelda, with a ton more you can do in the big random world. It might be too, because SS was the first game storywise in the series, so a sequel of some sort before Zelda 1 might be in the works. I honestly thought that SS was a direct sequel to TP(was wondering why the hell Link was in the sky), and saw once I played it wasn't. I wasn't keeping up with games at the time... I'm sure we will all cry of happiness when it comes out regardless.

also im really hoping to see alot more life in the next game. One way of describing what i mean would be somewhere between majoras masks town with villigers going about a daily routine, maybe certain quests happening a certain times and such and skywards swords bazaar where you can sit down next to people and they'll tell you storys. how the shop keeper follows you around eagerly wanting you to buy something and being dissapointed as you walk off. and of course the on going love story with the item check girl. I want the next hyrule ( if it is hyrule at all) to be a really vibrant place bursting with that zelda personality.

these 2 post pretty much sum up what im hoping for i like the idea of having big towns and less boring useless convos and more of the convos having some meaning to them or side quest. I like the idea of them bring back of the villiggers going on about there days and doing there own thing it makes it more realistic and insteresting that way :p

as for motion controls im ok with them at times they do glitch and not work as there suppose to though but sword attacks as touch screen controls wouldnt be good :( leave that to the maps and item inventory stuff. I agree on the more silly and romantic side of zelda and link i think ppl like that too bring in more zelda and not just mentioning her like in TP or having her play the catch me game(SS) but maybe her showing up in a certain battle and her trying to help you or in the end of the final battle like in OoT. i think i can go on with ideas too but i would bore ppl xD but they said it was going to be a big world so theres tons of stuff they can do in this game tons of new items they can have and tons of old items they can bring back just hope they dont keep us waiting too long would be nice for a 2014 release =/
