I know some people may think its too early but when it comes to zelda i just cant help getting really excited about what the new game could feature. What kind of world will be be exploring? on what transport? how long should it be? motion controls?
Theres alot to discuss and alot of time to do so, so why not get cracking haha.

Personally i think the main quest could to without the tedious fetch quests like in skyward sword. Not to get rid of them entirely but keep this sort of thing for side quests.

also im really hoping to see alot more life in the next game. One way of describing what i mean would be somewhere between majoras masks town with villigers going about a daily routine, maybe certain quests happening a certain times and such and skywards swords bazaar where you can sit down next to people and they'll tell you storys. how the shop keeper follows you around eagerly wanting you to buy something and being dissapointed as you walk off. and of course the on going love story with the item check girl. I want the next hyrule ( if it is hyrule at all) to be a really vibrant place bursting with that zelda personality.

i could go on for days lol. So, any of you guys have ideas for thing they wanna see in the game?

put it on.

Don't get too hyped, we might not even see the new Zelda this year, likely Nintendo will use E3 to promote Wind Waker HD some more, especially since it comes out fall and I'm fairly certain they won't release another console Zelda in the same year, it'd compete with sales too much. I don't think we'll really see or hear much about the game until next year.

put it on.

i am hoping for a 2015 release but wont hold my breath. Zelda is the flagship IP and Nintendo is wise enough not to rush it

2014 is a distinct possibility in my opinion, 2015 AT THE LATEST. But I doubt we'll even see any footage this year, they're gonna mostly be hyping Wind Waker HD.

I want more of an open world, with dungeons that take hours to complete and we search for the dungeons ourselves instead of linear paths with a partner saying "HEY! LISTEN! THAT MOUNTAIN LOOKS SUSPICIOUS!!!" The dungeons can be completed in a more flexible order. A more in depth item upgrade system than Skyward Sword. Just a few features I'd like.

I think it will be alot like the first Zelda. You just start out somewhere kind of random, and have to explore the world. Just imagine the first Zelda remade in HD, and you can walk through huge areas, climb mountains, swim any waters... I think exploration and wandering will be a key theme in this one, over the mostly linear path of all of them. I expect a Skyrim, or the new X game type of overworld, with towns, huge dungeons, and crazy cool items.

Actually, a 5-6 year wait for a Zelda game has only occurred between the releases of Link's Awakening and Ocarina of time. From 2003 to 2007, a Zelda game was released each year.

Actually yeah, I do believe its 2014! After all, they said Wind Waker HD is being made to occupy us while we wait for the new one. So I don't think they would want us to wait too long.

Ya, there's never been a gap more than 3 years for consoles, and if you count handheld Zelda games, there's been even less of a gap.

Like said above, this will probably come out in 2014. 3DS Zelda (fingers crossed for Majora's Mask) will either come out that year or the following year.

While I would like to see Majora's Mask on the 3DS, I don't think it will be out for a while. I you look at this article you'll see that Mr. Aonuma is considering making a MM remake, but he wishes to have a new Zelda out on 3DS first.

I predict it'll have a 'realistic' art style. Is that a good idea? Maybe, maybe not, but games with this art style like OoT and Twilight Princess sell about three times better than those without it, so I suspect Nintendo will go with it just to try and get more people to buy the Wii U. After all, can't be too experimental until the console is popular, right?

There should be some feature to use the TV as a screen for a 3D Zelda while the gamepad is a classic 2D Zelda. You could toggle between them in a sort or light world/dark world fashion. That's something I'd want to see. But better.

I am The Guy. I got all the shiny trinkets. Perfect score on every Yoshi's Island level. I beat Dark Link. Basically, I'm Awesome.

Nope, not coincided at all.

Or better yet, the TV is 3D Zelda and the Gamepad is a bird's eye view.

Well I'm only talking console based zeldas and about recent releases.

Between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess there is 5 years and between TP and Skyward Sword its 7.

Though I am expecting 3DS Zelda to be announced and released this year so its good.

Really that's the one I'm most interested in because I wonder what direction they will take the series on handheld.

Not exactly.
Wind Waker = 2003 --> Twilight Princess = 2006
3 years.
Twilight Princess = 2006 --> Skyward Sword = 2011
5 years.

I can' t wait for a new Zelda game! New gameplay features would be a real treat! I imagine that you would use the touchscreen to use your sword. Swipe across the screen to attack, tap incoming attacks to counter. You could even use the gameplay for map interface and inventory management. The high definition visuals would blow people's minds away! Voice- acting would be another great feature!

I actually hope it uses the Wiimotion Plus again rather than the gamepad. They've already done touchscreen with Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks and going back to a gamepad would be a big step backwards in my opinion. I also hope they do something more interesting with the story. I think they will considering they've finally released an official timeline. Question is, in which timeline would a new Zelda game be most interesting? Timeline A hasn't been explored since A Link to the Past, and left off in Zelda II with Ganon requiring Link's blood to revive himself. Timeline B represents all of the darkest Zelda games, and ends with Vaati escaping to the Dark World and the real Ganon has been standing in Hyrule field apparently with a sword in his chest since the ending of Twilight Princess, and Timeline C has jumped forward hundreds of years, moved to a new hyrule and left Ganon turned to stone at the bottom of the ocean with a sword in his face.
