I've never owned a Gamecube, 2 hardware gens ago my parents bought the family a PS2, If I had known about the Gamecube and Wind Waker, I would've asked for both the console and the game. Of course, you can't blame me for getting a PS2, Nintendo never advertises here in NZ, it's only when there's a new piece of hardware that they do anything of the sort and I love to point out they rarely do this when me and my family watch the commercials.
Anyway, I will definitely get The Wind Waker this time, I don't know what other fans think of all the remakes and ports, but I'm happy as long as I'm able to play them on my spunky new Wii U or 3DS.

All I got to say is, remaking Wind Waker beats the HD releases of PS games.

Hopefully it is cheaper than a full priced Wii U game.. I will get this game no matter what, but it seems like a $40 or maybe $50 price tag would be most fair..

With all this reaction for the game, I doubt it will be less.

If anyone honestly thinks this game will be anything less than standard retail game-price, you're going to be disappointed. :P

I should be entitled to a free download because I bought a preowned copy just before the gamecube died :P

Ocarina of Time just got a "remake" on 3DS, so that's out of the question. Any of the games on GameBoy like Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages and Seasons would be on Eshop. Same with all the ones on NES, SNES, and N64. They're all on virtual console. Where as Wind Waker is to new to be on virtual console. And. You can already play Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword on Wii U, and they're basically in HD anyway. So Wind Waker is perfect. It's too new to be on virtual console, but its to old where as if you want to play it, the only way is with a GameCube or Wii, no Wii U. That makes it probably the only Zelda game on a home console that cannot be played on Wii U

Yeah I expect that it will be regular price, but to me $60 seems a tad bit too high for a remake. Then again, it is a Zelda game..

Although I owned the Gamecube, the Wind Waker was just one of those games I never picked up. I've never been bought in by those cutesie-pie graphics and I'm still not. But now that I've replayed and completed all the other console games from the original NES to Skyward Sword I need some Zelda-lovin in the meantime. So for me, they couldn;t have chosen a better Zelda game to remake. I'll be picking this up as long as / when it's a decent price.

If anyone honestly thinks this game will be anything less than standard retail game-price

actually, i think there's every chance that it will be a download-only release at a "Nintendo Selects" pricelevel

Doubt it, not every Wii U owner buys games digitally. And Nintendo want as many sales as possible for this remake.

@CM30 Exactly, the only downloadable games I purchase are either Virtual Console or 'Ware' titles, It's too much of a strain on my bandwidth to download an entire game and I like physical copies anyway.

i think the reason they opted for windwaker is we haven't had a toon link game for a while. i understand this is a remake of a gamecube game, but it's good the next zelda game features toon link instead of adult link.

Same here! Unless it's a massive bonus to download it, either price or added content that's WORTH having it, I avoid it.

Because the GameCube instal base was somewhat low & it's hard to find Wind Waker nowadays. Because of these two things, Nintendo is doing this to let more people play Wind Waker. You can easily pick up Twilight Princess for Wii & play it on Wii U so there's no point in remaking it, even though I (don't kill me now folks) vastly preferred it to Wind Waker.

As far as I'm concerned, Wind Waker seems to be the most incomplete Zelda game to date. That, and the fact that the GameCube had a shockingly low install base; Nintendo clearly wants to release this title in particular to a wider audience.

Let us not judge a man by the colour of his skin, but by the character he chooses to battle with in Brawl.

Technically Wind Waker was incomplete considering they scrapped the final two dungeons because of time constraints. That's why the last part of the game (the tedious and boring Triforce quest) was so lackluster. I'm hoping the HD release is a true director's cut where that stupid Triforce quest is cut out and the two dungeons return. Perhaps in a Master Quest.
