Topic: YouTube app is the worst app ever.

YouTube for Wii U is absolutely the WORST app I've ever used on any gaming console. Its clear to me that they didn't finish building it. The gamepad isn't utilized (hardly), searching, browsing, sorting, all looks like alpha. Worthless navigation. And playback simply doesn't work... just queuing endlessly. They really need to have someone take a look at this piece of trash they call an app in make it usable.

Did you try youtube on the regular internet app?

Indeed the Wii U's YouTube app is completely bizarre. Why on earth would I want to learn a new design and interface when it's so much quicker, easier and more intuitive to just use the YouTube that we're all familiar with via the excellent web browser (that makes good use of the touch-screen and doesn't tell me that videos don't exist when they totally do). I know it's more of a YouTube/Google problem as they made it, but as it's right there on the Wii U home menu, it's one of the first things people will use and it isn't exactly a great advert for the console's multimedia functionality.

I don't understand it. I think Nintendo just didn't want to any way imply it was poorly done to Google (which it was).

I also agree. I tried it few times. It just does not work.

Nintendo is using standard Youtube TV app available on PS3 and some TV's
They should have made their OWN Nintendo Youtube app. (maybe later who knows)

If it's anything like PS3's crappy app, absolutely. And I'm saying this with the PS3 browser only allowing 240p. How crazy is that?

everybody has been complaining about the app on miiverse since day one, and yet the youtube admin obviously don't give a damn.

I'll have to try it via the browser. Google usually does things so right, that this "app" is bizarrely bad.

We know. The same thing happened with YouTube XL. They thought they could make it seem more appealing for TV users, but they mess up time and time again.

The YouTube app on the PS3 is almost exactly the same, so I'm guessing that YouTube just made a "universal" app and ported it to each console without taking in much consideration of each console's unique features

Like what everyone else said, just use the web browser.

Yup browser is better, just wish you could actually replay videos without having to completely reload them, but I get that problem on the PC too

The Wii U version of the app is basically the same as the Wii version with minimal use made of the Gamepad. I recommend using the Web Browser, you will get a far better experience.

The browser is great though. I just use that shrugs
