Topic: You're gonna laugh... but I asked Bioware to give Wii U a chance at Mass Effect 4

It sucks, for sure. I knew it wouldn't last, but I expected that a few of them would stick around long enough to put a few lesser brands or one-offs there. I think kkslider hit it on the head, the publishers are like High-rollers. They gotta make big gambles, but they only want to make them where the payout is highest if it works in their favor...otherwise, "why bother?", they say...

Well this year the wiiu has one last third party game. And that's watch dogs let's see if it sells if it doesn't well .No more assassins creed for the wiiu o any other games from ubisoft.

Really 2011 seemed to good to be true in hindsight I should of know it wouldn't last long but I though 3rd parties would stick it out longer then they did.

You don't even need to worry about specs, bro. Specs is not the reason why Kingdom Hearts 3, Star Wars, Mass Effect 4, etc. are currently unannounced on Wii U. It's a combination of 3rd parties waiting until Nintendo has as many consoles sold as possible without their support, and learning how to support a new PowerPC console. I speak the truth ya'll.

This is the entire reason why Ubisoft has a completed game just sitting around, because they can make more money when there are 8 million Wii U's, instead 6.5 million or whatever it's currently at. They are taking advantage of Nintendo's ability to sell consoles without much of their help. It's beneficial to 3rd parties, but not us.

I got to agree with @midnafanboy , though. 3rd parties were all talk. The only reason why they were excited, was because they were able to port over a handful of Xbox 360 games for a fraction of what they originally paid. EDIT: Also, I do think they were legitimately excited for the GamePad, but this goes along with being able to easily implement it with games that were already on 7th gen.

Sadly not literally, because a game of Whack-a-Mole with Capcom's management and the ***hole that said Dead Space needed to sell 5 million to survive to a 4th entry would be incredibly cathartic.

If Cyberpunk is anything, and I mean anything like Deus Ex, I'd definitely want it on Wii U.

Thank you for the reminder that I still need to get the Wii U version of Human Revolution. Someone tell SE to give that eShop discount already, it's the least they could do after Nintendo localized their own JRPG and basically handed them a new franchise to make money off of outside of Japan. Especially since they're the ones that pulled that inconsistent price nonsense in the first place...

I really enjoyed the 3rd party games I played on Wii U. I honestly enjoyed them and to see them just walk away from the console.... just really hurts, y'know? I really had fun with AC4 on Wii U and to see that Ubisoft won't even consider putting a freaking AC game on Wii U just HURTS. I love my Wii U and all the games I have for it. Its just sucks to see the 3rd party support just diminish like this.

I feel the same way- I'm actually fine with what Nintendo has, has lined up this year and next...... BUT, I would like the option to buy at least a few of the big titles that we are missing out on. I'd probably only get maybe 2-3 at most (I actually bought several of the existing 3rd party titles, Deus Ex, even close to release to support the system). So, I'll probably end up getting a Ps4 in a year or two to get Madden and then a few titles that look cool.

Maybe third party might come back after this year with, i'm guessing the wiiu sales skyrocketing with smash bros.Maybe i actually hope it happens.

Good for you, OP. As someone else said, doing that is better than sitting around and just complaining while doing NOTHING, right?

One thing I don't understand, though, is everyone using the excuse, "Nintendo's always been about first-party games." Uhm. Maybe if you were born in the late 90s, but the NES and SNES absolutely thrived on abundant and diverse third-party offerings. Yea, Mario and Zelda games always rocked, but you had every third-party company under the sun crafting games for those systems that some people love just as much as the first-party stuff (Final Fantasy, Mortal Kombat, The Lost Vikings, Castlevania ... the list goes on). You could even argue that the same thing kind of (stress KIND OF, haha) happened with the Wii - TONS of third-party stuff there, even if a lot of it wasn't exactly high quality.

It boils down to market share. Trust me, if the Wii U had an install base of 20 million, EA would bend over backwards to make Mass Effect 4 work on the system. Mario Kart really helped the numbers, and hopefully Smash and other holiday offerings will continue to sell the Wii U and get it to the point where third parties, once again, won't be able to help but want their games on the system.

And when you think about it.... Nearly all Wii U owners are excited for the same games. We're excited for the same games because that's all what we have. We can't get excited about Kingdom Hearts 3 or Final Fantasy XV or Witcher 3 or Metal Gear Solid V. Just name a 3rd party game you want and we can't even get it for our own console! That depresses and angers me at the same time!!! We can't even get excited for all these freaking cross gen games still being made that's still ignoring the Wii U.

Heck, look at Rockstar. Grand Theft Auto V sold like crazy so they're bringing it to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. But still no Wii U support?!?!? How is that fair?!?!?

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Ask all you want, EA isn't interested. Their idea of supporting the console was a lazy, overpriced port of a last-gen game, and it's the gamers' fault for not buying it.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Taffy

Do nothing, nothing will happen. Simple as that, I enjoyed Mass Effect and would love this and SW:BF 3 to come on the Wii U. Either way I filled to survey and made a note of wanting it on Wii U

EA is pretty much donecakes with Nintendo. They said that they have no plans for anything through 2017 or something like that- I'm actually surprised that they don't at least release an updated Madden for it considering that the install base is 40 plus million (granted, the main people who would be interested in this would be Americans, who I am guessing only account for 10m-12m, but still).

That said, I think some of the bigger titles might end up on the Wii U here and there.

Thing is, its not the specs that are the problem. They're an obstacle, sure, but they aren't the real reason. At least not alone, they aren't.

Aw, come on @Blast. I want to see more 3rd party devs on the system cuz it would work so well, but I'd just enjoy my Wii U for the now now. Hopefully third party devs will come to the console after Nintendo manages a moderate install audience.
AND NO, I'm not laughing!

I sent in a somewhat lengthy paragraph explaining how I enjoyed ME3: Definitive Edition and that since ME4 is a totally brand new experience that it could work out well for Wii U owners, too.

Thanks for doing that. I too loved Mass Effect 3: SE so much, and I feel it's the stupidest thing ever not to have more ME on the Wii U using the coolness of the Game Pad. But I don't really care anymore. I'd like them to go this way, but if "masses" went them to go a different way, cater to them. Videogames aren't that important to me at this point of time. There are plenty of others for Wii U anyway.

I am playing Mass Effect 3 : SE at the Moment. Its a fantastic game, and works very well with the gamepad. I wish ME4 would coming to Wii U. I think ,its not technical problem. The Wii U could handle it.
