Only one, a new Metroid, and I really hope it's Samus going on a new mission that doesn't try to work off of another entry. I feel part of the reason why a new Metroid hasn't been done yet is due to Nintendo simply not knowing how to handle it story-wise.

A new Metroid hasn't been done simply because they have focused on other franchises. The last Metroid game was Other M in 2010. That's only five years ago. Metroid fans act like it's been 20 years since the last one. I suppose the reason for that is wanting a new Metroid to correct the mistake that was Other M. Don't get me wrong, I want a new Metroid as much as the next guy, but it's not like Nintendo is neglecting the franchise (minus ignoring its 25th anniversary).

Frankly, Metroid should've been given more priority on the Wii U. It would've been the perfect game for the Wii U's roster back when the console lacked interesting games and struggled to convince everyone that the Gamepad was useful. What adds insult to injury is that Retro's reasons for passing up Metroid for Donkey Kong were completely nonsensical. They made Tropical Freeze because they thought there was more they could do with DK, and yet Tropical Freeze added very little to the series. Meanwhile Metroid is pretty much tailor made to take advantage of the Gamepad and Retro even shared their own ideas on how to use them. So I'm more insulted that it's exactly the kind of game that Nintendo needed and they passed it up more than the amount of time that's passed since the last game, and although now it's slightly less needed it would still make a great Wii U game, it'd be a shame if Metroid completely missed out on the Wii U.

New Advance Wars or Fire Emblem, for Wii U preferably in glorious HD, or 3DS if necessary (I've heard elsewhere that those sort of turn based strategy games work better on handhelds)

FE x SMT - more info or cancellation thereof.

Other new games, and an attempt by Nintendo to release at least one new (or remastered) Wii U Game per month for the next year or so. No more game droughts please.

I also think Gamecube VC would be awesome, although it probably won't happen.

Most of it already is. Smash, Pokemon, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, and Captain Toad are already out and Kirby, Yoshi, and Splatoon will for sure be out by then. That leaves XCX, Zelda, Star Fox, Devil's Third, and Mario Party 10 for sure, and Mario Maker I'm not sure about.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong was also announced during E3 2014.

It's very likely Mario Party 10 and Devil's Third are released before E3. Those 2 titles have already been classified for Australia.

Xenoblade Chronicles X has a Q2 release window for the Japanese market. I don't know if that would mean E3 2015 footage or not.

I guess we will not know if it was nonsensical until a few years from now. There's also the learning process of completely new hardware for Retro to take into consideration (similar to Wind Waker HD being the learning game for the Zelda team), and the rumor that Monster Games helped with Tropical Freeze, and some assets are shared with the rumored Diddy Kong Racing 2 (by Monster Games).

A Metroid game released later in the Wii U life will be a better game, since Nintendo (and Retro) have learned a lot during these first years.

5. N64 / Gamecube Virtual Console.
4. New Donkey Kong Country game with animal buddies and K. Rool.
3. Lego City Undercover 2.
2. A new strategy franchise. I'm thinking something like Civilization or Sim City, something that could put the gamepad to great use.
1. New Earthbound / Mother game for Wii U. Yes, I know it's not gonna happen.

Very honorable mention to an HD Luigi's Mansion 3 for Wii U, an Amiibo World game, and an open-ended 3D Donkey Kong.

I'm fine with Nintendo focusing on other franchises, but one of the reasons why I own a 3DS and Wii U is to see where they take Metroid this generation. To me, with my experiences on the Wii and DS, the 3DS and Wii U would be lackluster overall without a new Metroid. Five years is quite a bit of time given the release schedule of the Metroid games since 2002. As someone who enjoys Other M, I want no correction done. I want a new mission, new story, new setting and new threat. I want it to be like Hunters where they're not wasting much effort at all trying to intertwine the next entry into the current timeline, and instead create a fascinating adventure that's fresh. Sure, Metroid isn't being neglected yet, but given how the console Metroid Prime games looked, it's an obvious series to, at the very least, put on the Wii U.

I agree that Metroid should be given a lot of attention on the Wii U. I think a new Metroid should've been already out back in 2013. Retro Studios though didn't have to be the developer for that game. Honestly, Tropical Freeze had to happen for me to be interested in what they could do on the Wii U with Metroid. It's the first game they've done where the level designs, environment naming and music were so well polished and cohesive that I finally felt they created a very fascinating, engrossing atmosphere. The Prime Trilogy overall lacked that in my experiences. They never got it down like in TF. As much as I would want to see a new Prime game on the Wii U, I don't want a fourth Prime game from Retro that I think is only as great as its graphics, art style and animations. I want something more intelligent from them, and Tropical Freeze gave me faith that they could accomplish that, whether in a new Prime or 2.5D side-scrolling game.

I view Retro's decision to go with Tropical Freeze much in the same way as Miyamoto's for Galaxy 2. Retro Studios had more they wanted to do with DK, so they did, and the result is an amazing game. I don't think it was about trying to be innovative with the franchise at all.

I really hope a new Metroid on the Wii U isn't gimmicky and forces me to do scanning by holding the pad up. I don't even want it to be required. I'd prefer to play the new Metroid like I did the Prime Trilogy, with options available to use the Game Pad, pro-controller, etc. Nintendo has much better franchises that can show off what the game pad can do. I will say though, if Metroid were to miss the Wii U, it's a very tough sale for them to get me to get their next generation console. If it weren't for Metroid Blast in Nintendo Land, I wouldn't have even considered the Wii U when it launched. Both the 3DS and Wii U should see a new Metroid game.

No reason. I just like seeing all three companies on the stage.

There were at least four companies on the stage last year, AFAIK.

It's quite awkward to watch a bunch of Japanese developers struggle with their English on a stage. Besides, the vast majority of people are watching it online anyway, the attendees at the live conference are mainly press. I think the E3 Digital Event was a great solution.

It's not probable unless SMT X FE is cancelled. IS pretty much has their hands tied up in SMT X FE and STEAM right now.

I disagree, Intelligent Systems have an unannounced (unless I've missed the announcement) Wii U project still under wraps. I think this is likely Paper Mario U. Plus they'd be crazy not to develop Paper Mario because of SMT x FE. Historically Paper Mario have massively outsold FE. PM has always been a million seller for each entry.

METROID U & 3DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also (though obvious) Devils 3rd, Star Fox U, Xenoblade X and Zelda U release dates (if not released by then). More Amiibos, both new Amiibos and new support/functions (Splatoon Amiibo would be cool). Neo Fast Racing release date (and even though it's the same type of game) something F-Zero for WiiU, more 3rd party games (something exclusive that would tick other console owners off like Bayonetta 2 did, just because ). The reboot of an old IP, remaster of something for WiiU(Eternal Darkness HD would be cool). And a typical Nintendo surprise/shocker that no one was expecting (could just be a 3rd party exclusive too). Though at this point unlikely , hopefully some SSB DLC would be awesome (DLC characters and stages). And some news on either the WiiU eshop finally getting N64, GameCube and Wii and Wiiware games on it, or news on the new Nintendo console (but I'm not expecting news on that until 2016 at the earliest).

Xenoblade N3DS release date, anything else N3DS exclusive. Anything new 3DS, maybe some more N64-3DS remasters? Although Metroid II is still begging for a HD remaster.

Nintendo removing Region-Lock (though unlikely ).

Unfortunately true, even Sticker Star which is generally considered a terrible game sold better than Awakening which was very well received.
