Do Japanese Wii U Pro Controllers work on a PAL Wii U?

As far as I know, all peripherals are region-free. My main Gamecube controller is a Japanese import and it works perfectly fine.

It's just software that's region-locked.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

And the Gamepad. The Gamepad is region locked as well. But everything else should be fine.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.

Oh, good call. Don't know how I missed that!

the only reason why I perfer the pro controller is because the idea of the gamepad being non sold in stores sepretaly and that if it breaks you cant buy it on youre own... other then that I use the game pad 50/50 with the pro controller depends on my mood

I am in the same situation as Sean_Aaron. The only game that could force me is Guacamelee, but my bro has not been as interested in games as he was before. The Pro price does not help matters either.

And I love the Gamepad. It has all the things a normal controller has and more. The only bad things could be the size (I am not bothered with that) and the battery life (that can be fixed) but to each their own.

Regarding the Cube controller, I guess many Smash fans prefer it because it was the controller that was used in Melee, their favorite Smash Bros. game, and not because of the form factor itself. I used it for Brawl and preferred the Classic Controller, so I will be skipping the adapter unless VC actually shows up.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

I honestly don't think the GCN controller is that big of a deal. It's awesome that it will be an option for Smash Bros. and whatever else, but the Pro controller is just as hard, if not easier to get used to than the N64 and GCN remote were when changing controllers from generation to generation.

The classic controller could be supported for a long time. It just depends on how much they think it will supported. VC games will for sure support it, but everything else is really up to whether the developer thinks it's worthwhile, which is not a for sure thing.
